In other news...  I think I'm going to head to the Park and get some sun and shade and do some reading, and/or just listen to my iPod for a while.  And it actually has been a few weeks since I've been to the Reservoir, so...

Laters...

A couple of weeks!  Sounds like Manopause to me.

Please send super-strength healing vibes to DR Kerry, who fell and broke his ankle. He may be having surgery tomorrow.

Best of comfort and healing wishes from OZ,  DR Kerry

There is simply no way for me to respond to this without doing further detriment to my reputation.  -Of course, I don't think reputations can be quantified in negative numbers, so..

Well, if you had flashed pictures of your gold lamé boys around town sooner, you probably would have sold out, too!  ;)

And if you had cast two 80+ year old B picture actors or two current Bollywood hunks as the two boys in gold; MBarnum, td, and Jrand57 would have bought out all the seats before they even went on sale to members.

And this is why I should never shop at Balducci's...

Thankfully(?), I only bought the 8 oz. container.  Tasty!

And, of course, if you had cast Brent Barrett and Michael Ball as the two golden boys, Danise and I would have showed up in New York for the first rehearsal.

Well, it seems to me that there is one great irony in the NYMF.  Some shows didn't keep to an even playing field, some weren't allowed in the playground.  Some shows were so new that the ink was still wet, while others were previously written on the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Some shows were the darlings of the press and others couldn't get their names in the Obits.

And finally there was ROLLER DERBY, which broke all the rules, had a theater all to themselves, previewed their show before allowing critics in the door, and spent enough money to finance one day of Mr. Bush's Iraqi war.

Yet when all was said and done, My Friend Filichia selected THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X, THE LAST STARFIGHTER, and SUCH GOOD FRIENDS as three of the very best of the best.  And isn't that the point?

But seriously, Happy Columbus Day to you.  We, meaning the employees of the State of Washington, gave up this day as a holiday years ago in exchange for the day after Thanksgiving.

SMART decision!

The last day I worked before taking maternity leave with Bryan was the day after Thanksgiving.  I had no intention of returning on Friday until my boss mentioned I would not be paid for the holiday, thus loosing two days pay vs one.

It was exciting to have three shows in the Festival created by HHW members, but to have all three be considered among the best of show is awesome.

IT SURE IS!  :D

It's a good thing he's cute, because he has no personality [compared to a dog or a cat]!

He is a cutie!  Doesn't he snuggle?

ONLY IN IOWAY!

IN REHEARSAL: The cast discusses the script of “Caucus! The Musical” in Des Moines, where political events outnumber theater options during campaign season.
(Kevin Sanders / For The Times)

LATIMES

der Brucer

LOL, I love the lyrics...

I went to open up my door
And there stood Walter
Mondale in my yard.
He'd been there since the break of dawn,
That's when he'd mowed and raked my lawn
And walked and fed my lazy St. Bernard.

. . .
Bill Bradley washed my
pickups
Anything for a vote . . .
Kucinich cured my hiccups.
Iowans know well that a
candidate will sell
His soul to earn one measly caucus vote.

It's so true!

I love surprises and this one was WAY OUT THERE.

This is one time when you can truly blame DR JoseSPiano.  And DR Vixmom.  It was their idea!  :)

I'm already auctioning the card on ebay.  It has Larry Moore, Jose and Nelson Eddy (or Jeanette - I'm having trouble reading the writing) listed.

Here is something fun, and it has absolutely nothing to do wth the NYMF.  Go to this website:

Answer all the questions and will calculate which Presidential candidates most share your views on the issues.  Interesting to me, was that my top three candidates were indeed my top three candidates.
