DR GINNY,
I read Laurie King's LOCKED ROOMS while taking care of this bug. I do love, love, love Laurie King. As I've read virtually all the works of my favorite mystery authors, could you recommend a couple books or authors who write as well as Ms King?

DR Jeanne - Reader's advisory is not my strong suit as a librarian, but I did some checking and came up with this:

"If You Like" Author Search

Beautiful Name-

What does MEISHAR mean in English?

Thank you. In English it doesn't mean anything, as far as I know. In Hebrew, it's a (possibly completely non-existent) grammatical variant of a word meaning "upright-ness" or "fairness" (it's the last word of Psalm 98).

The word itself derives from the Hebrew word "yashar," meaning "straight." Every friend of ours saw significance in this name being applied to the offspring of two theater queens. :)

Topic of the Day:  My family has always played Sorry and Aggravation.  Lately, we've been playing Scrabble, but I'm not very good at it. ::) But I try.

We used to play Monopoly regularly, but it's been a while since we have.  Between all of us in the family, we've probably got a dozen different versions of the game...including the locally produced Oly-opoly III! :)

The only performer I didn't like AT ALL was the Beggar Woman played by a dear friend of DR ELMORE's. - Victoria Clark.

You mean you LIKED the stretched to the gills Davis Gaines?!?!?!?  I normally love Davis' work, but, I can't watch his Anthony at all, someone should have found a better plastic surgeon. . .
And, I'll take Victoria Clark over Audra in this particular role, though, it would be interesting to see/hear Audra doing THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA.

Does any DR in Manhattan know of a place to have cassettes transformed to CDs?

I know that Second Hand Rose (a used record/cd/cassette store) at 48 E 12th St (between Broadway & University Place) does that kind of thing but they are WAY overpriced and the people in the store are miserable and unpleasant. I'm telling you this in case someone recommends the place. Based on my two or three times in the store and the attitude from the owners I would stay away from them at all costs.

The Second Hand Rose that used to be at 14th and Sixth Avenue? I wondered where they went.

If JOURNEYMAN's ratings continue to sink (it's down in the territory where STUDIO 60 ended up last year in terms of audience numbers), I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see NBC yank it and put MEDIUM here instead of waiting for the midseason SUnday night at 10 slot that now have it penciled-in for.

I've stuck with it - and really would like to enjoy it more. I like the cast, but find the plotting weak.

Had a great fun lunch with best friend John. He's a BIG fan of DAMAGES, and we sat there quoting dialog from the show and them improvising our own that had us rolling out of our seats in gales of laughter.

I spent the first part of the afternoon finishing the DVD of THE HOAX watching the six deleted scenes and the one extended scene. There were two featurettes about Clifford Irving, both of which Mike Wallace (who interviewed him twice on 60 MINUTES 30 years apart). And there were two audio commentaries that I sampled about a half hour of each.

Next I watched today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. All I can say is Noah is one screwed-up kid.

Looks like the gay storyline will be on tomorrow's show as well.

Next, I put in THE ADVENTURES OF ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE and watched "The Treasure of Monte Zoom." On this disc are three complete R&B stories without any of the other cartoons from the series. The one I watched was 8 episodes in length (about half an hour). When I go back down I'll watch "Wossamotta U."

I finished the afternoon by watching the first half of last night's CSI: NY. Detective Flack now has a society girl friend. She seems to good to be true. I don't have a good feeling about this lasting.

For DR tomovoz:
Unfortunately "Blood Brothers" is a lot closer than that. It has opened at Monash University (about 30 minutes away).

DP Colin will be attending the show on Sunday. I SHALL NOT. I tell you it's true!

The first part is a bit joking about the new Log Cabin ad, the second part is about dressing up your Roombas!
