Jeesh, there's no pleasing some people!  ;)

If I spend my work time posting, there's comment...

But if I spend my work time working, there's comment...

Hmm.

:P

:)

I never think ANY day is a slow news day. I post what I post, and I know others who have the time do so as well. If some days are busier than others, well, that's life. But a slow news day?Never dawns on me to think such a thing.

The only department I did not officially work was Sporting Goods...however, while I was a clerk in Toys I did cover the Sporting Goods counter from time to time.

You can see the video on YouTube; just search on Savvy in Salem.

I finished my afternoon viewing by watching more of LEGALLY BLONDE. I got to the end of Act I. So far, lots of energy but no music I found particularly memorable. I thought the same thing when I listened to the cast album some weeks ago. I honestly though the flop show THE WEDDING SINGER ahd better music.

I too enjoy NCIS because of the cast (Sean Murray in general and David McCallum specifically) - as DR MATTH has written, stories are nothing to write home about.

I had to put shorts on for my lunch outing.

Boxers or briefs?

I shall be E&T tonight.  I have to go to a business dinner with a client.  We're going to an Italian restaurant called Campagnolla on 74th & 1st.  Have you ever heard of it, DR JoseSPiano?

Looking at the menu, the Veal Parmesan is a cool $42.  And salad is extra!

Good Afternoon!

I ended up meeting my friend, Billy, for lunch at Virgil's BBQ in Times Square. Decent food and lots of it - I should have stopped after the "appetizer" of biscuits with honey butter, but the beef brisket was rather tasty too.

After lunch, I wandered down 45th Street and checked out a new take-out spot called "FreeFoods".  Alas, nothing was "free" price-wise, and nothing was exactly fat-free or calorie-free either.  However, if I'm remembering the write-ups on the place, I believe the "free" refers to the fact that the ingredients are organic (pesticide free) and sustainable, and quick-to-serve.

I had one of their oat cookies with bits of dried mango in it.  Quite tasty.  I think the next time I head back there, I will give their Chocolate Hibiscus Pistachio Brownie a try.

After making a stop at the bank, I headed on up to Central Park for a nice walk.  The morning clouds had parted, and the sun came out - it actually got a little warm.  I walked up to around 72nd Street, then walked across the Park to Central Park West to catch the B train back uptown.  A truly wonderful fall afternoon.

NCIS is one of the handful of TV programs that DH Richard and I watch together on a regular basis.  Even I usually figure out the mystery, but we like the characters and the humor.

I think I stopped in for drinks there once.  IIRC, it's one of those UES stalwart Italian places.  And I also remember a pianist there too.  Buon Appetito!

That is BY FAR its strongest attribute.

But some of the acting is really poor. I think Lauren Holly is a disaster as the director of the unit.

Yes, DR Singdaw - today I feel better than I have since Richard and I left New York.  Hoping  BK and DRs Vixmom, Kerry, and FJL are recovering, too.

You shoulda seen her in TURBULENCE as the flight attendant who landed the jumbo jet while wearing a bra and half slip.....but not without first flying so low over a parking garage that she ended up with an SUV on her landing gear.

I totally recommend this movie!  ;D

Of course what was really unbelievable to me in TURBULENCE, is that there was a cross country flight on Christmas Eve with less than 10 passengers on the ENTIRE plane.

Thank you.

My pleasure.

A RAVE for 'Young Frankenstein': Broadway's Monster Hit

der Brucer

In the review, it says:

Bart is surrounded by a very talented core group: the hilarious (and thank goodness, sans her little girl TV voice) Megan Mullally as his society girlfriend Elizabeth; Foster as his gorgeous lab assistant Inga ("She’s assisting his brains out," Frau Blücher observes), Christopher Fitzgerald as the Marty Feldman-invention Igor (pronounced, thank you, "Eye-gor") and Shuler Hensley as the operatic monster played by Peter Boyle in the film.

When I saw it in Seattle (twice...not to brag or anything ;)), Christopher Fitzgerald as Eye-gor had the line, "She's assisting his brains out."  I wonder if the reviewer got it wrong or if they actually changed who says it.
