Jeanne, I do have to drive to the park since we live outside of town.  There is a lovely street along the park, if only we had found a house there.  I do love living in the country & enjoy the drive to and from town.

Primer for the culturally deprived:
Quote
Once upon a time there were three billy goats, names Gruff. They were on their way to eat on the hillside, but they had to cross a bridge. Under the bridge lived a troll, with eyes as big as saucers, and a nose as long as a poker.

The first goat over the bridge was the youngest Billy Goat Gruff. "Trip, trap, trip, trap!" he walked across the bridge.

"Who's that tripping over my bridge?" roared the troll.

"I am the smallest Billy Goat Gruff, and I'm going up to the hillside to make myself fat," said the billy goat, with a tiny voice.

"I'm coming to gobble you up," said the troll.

"Oh, no! please don't eat me. I'm too little!" said the billy goat. "Wait for the second Billy Goat Gruff. He's much bigger."

"Well, be off with you," said the troll

No orders yet?  Don't delay on this one - I have two online stores that are taking at least 300 of them right off the bat.

That's great.  The music is beautiful.

Jane - boy dogs are supposed to lift their legs - if they don't they are in constant danger of peeing on their own haunches or feet. You can discourage territory marking without stopping the normal peeing posture.

Telling Sherlock not to lift a leg is like me telling you to pee standing up! And tell Keith I said so ;D

LOL.  I don't think it is the same.  Boy puppies don't lift their legs, and many never do.  The only time Sherlock even begins to is if he is by a bush, otherwise he is perfectly happy to STAND on the grass or wherever.  I assure you he never goes on himself.

Now, if he were to lift his leg he might miss and go on a person, or another dog's leg.  I see it happen far too often.  And then he will begin going on walls, cars tires, bike racks, the list just continues.

Thank you, if possible, I will keep my sweet standing boy who goes where I want him to go. :) ;D

"Barnyard" (What were they thinking?)

"Curtain Call". Who is James Spader and why is employed as an actor?

I have been somewhat truant - but I have finished making 18 compilation CDs. 15 of them were of Oscar nominated songs! (Approx 25 tracks on each Cd).

And the goats and troll were musicalized in Jeanne's very own Virginia:

BARTER

Quote
Billy, Goat & Gruff: The Musical
BEGINS July 18
Kid's Stage

This is the musical tale of three goat brothers: Billy, Goat and Gruff. They go on an adventure to search for food before the harsh winter snow descends upon their mountain. As they journey, they encounter many dangers, escape a nasty troll and discover that if they follow their hearts, anything is possible. Don’t miss the best new children’s musical you’ve seen in years!

Who is James Spader and why is employed as an actor?

Because he is much admired and well rewarded:

First big appearance:

Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989) (Cannes Film Festival Best Actor Award)

Next fan favorite:

Stargate (1994) (The movie that led to the TV series)

Then on American TV:

"The Practice" .... Alan Shore (22 episodes, 2003-2004) (One Emmy Award)

"Boston Legal" .... Alan Shore (88 episodes, 2004-2007) (Two Emmy Awards)

...and still playing.

But you won't get to see it in 3D! You will hear some nice music (Danny Elfman, Rufus Wainwright, etc).

The Grandlads really enjoyed it!

der Brucer

Note: the viewing experience is enhanced by having a theatre filled with well-behaved, but enthusiastic youngsters.

No, it wasn't in 3-D. I'm getting the Blu-ray version this week which will likely be closer to the 3-D theater experience, but even as I watched it, I could see how impressive the visuals would have been in 3-D. More about this in a minute.

Although it's Pixar-lite, with John Lasseter attached as Exec Producer.  I gave it a pretty unqualified rave at DVDTalk--probably my favorite non-Pixar Disney release of the last several years.

I'm going to have to watch it again before I write about it. My first impression was that it was overly frenetic and scattered. Once the pieces all came together later, it made me curious to see it again, at least the first 2/3 again, to see better how the pieces fit together.

I began my afternoon of viewing with the last ten minutes or so of BOSTON LEGAL. David E. Keley lives in a fantasyland if that's how he thinks a "Don't Ask; Don't Tell" trial would actually go, but it was a feel-good resolution, so who am I to complain? Stil think the Alan Shore-babbling business was too silly and not worthy of the show.

I saw it twice - once with the younger grandlad, then back again with both.

It definitely makes more sense the second time around.

der Brucer

It also makes a good case for buying the films on DVD - after enjoying the film as a theatrical experience, the kids get even more when re-watching at home on DVD.

And then MEET THE ROBINSONS. I did stop it midway through to take care of the laundry which wasn't really fair to the film, so I am going to watch it again when I go back downstairs. Then, I'll start on the bonus features.

No orders yet?  Don't delay on this one - I have two online stores that are taking at least 300 of them right off the bat.

I really want to order this one, but will have to wait until I get home.  This new software installation has me on Netscape instead of Internet Explorer...and some sites it won't let me access.  Instead, it says a "plugin" is needed...but it won't say "which" plugin, so the links to sites where I might find plugins don't do me much good.  I blame the installer and Mozilla and some restrictons that were built in.

At any rate, I can access this here site, but www.kritzerland.com won't pop up for me here at work.

Who are the online retailers, BK, in case you run out before I get to order?

And the person running said rehearsals is, what...playing the score from memory?   ::)

Close.  He has a laptop with the music on that.  I don't know why he can't (or won't) just print it out.  And he is the one who actually wrote the whole show...music, lyrics and book.

Wow!  Another rarity -- something else to agree upon.

I liked him in "Stargate", and that's pretty much "it."

Never could figure out why all the fuss...especially on "Boston Legal".

That said, he's on a par -- for me -- with Christopher Walken who can be "so right" for a few roles and "so  wrong" for many other roles.

We should be so lucky as to run out before you get home, RLP - no worries there :)  I've actually had some nice orders, but only two from this here site.  I'm tellin' you - it's a beautiful thing - don't think it's just a soundtrack - it's a full-out musical motion picture in which, like Umbrellas of Cherbourg, every line is sung.  It's achingly beautiful.
