Must add Paul Robeson to my 1930s singer list. I almost forgot him...well, actually I did forget him.
and again MBArnum

Mr Robeson was VERY popular here in Australia.

Her film performances gave me much pleasure.  "The Innocents" was most unsettling!

I saw Miss Kerr on stage in 1973 in "The Day after The Fair". She was wonderful.
(I could not say the same of the wonderful Ms Bergman who was not so wonderful on stage)

I can tell you someone else whose acting isn't so good away from a camera: Cher.

Heading down now to continue listening to the commentaries for UNDER THE VOLCANO. Then, I'll watch last night's LIFE.

Once again, I'm noticing that Burt Lancaster's feet look so healthy and pain-free.  :)

But I am getting steadily better

As you can see, the new countertops got put in place, adjusted, and then re-adjusted.  I think they are going to look fabulous when it it all finished.

The countertops are beautiful. They are such a deep rich earthy look with even a hint of amber.

This is very much a Teresa Brewer friendly Household.

The most recent (not very) recording I have by here is "Come Follow The Band". - a word/song  of the day reference.

A Barnum reference but not M.

Are we sure DR Singdaw isn't a reference librarian?

I was wondering the same thing..

I regret to say that I am not overly familiar with singers from the 20s and 30s.

I do recall watching reruns of Shirley Temple movies when I was a kid. My grandmother was a fan of those movies.

Working away - do you know how hard it is to find a twelve year old boy to do a musical number in the fundraiser?  To even know how to begin?

I haven't seen the show. I just know that we all experience set-backs and disappointments in life and believe that it's how we deal with them that makes us who we are.

I couldn't agree with you more, Matt.

I don't know, when I have disappointments I just dive into work.  Seems to me that's what they are doing.

More than you probably wanted to know about methane department:  Leave it to us ecologically minded northwesterners, but one of the big movements (so to speak) here is called "Biomass," and it produces energy from, you guessed it, manure and the methane that manure releases.  Some farms can power themselves just on the biomass they themselves produce.  It's a major source of "green" (well, .......) energy initiatives up here.

I don't ever want to know how a cow releases methane!

Just how you think they do. There are actually companies working at turning that methane into usable energy. No lie

LOL JMK it' isn't just the Northwest, here in Iowa where we have lots of cows and more pigs than people, we're trying to use that methane too

DR MBarnum, Colin Clive played Dr/ Frankenstein. John Boles played Victor, a friend of the family.

Oh, Spoo, you are right.

And I always thought Mae Clarke shoulda been with John, rather then Colin.

Another Bowlly fan.

Such excellent taste DR MBarnum.
(Not a comment heard often)

In fact, this is the first time that comment has ever been directed towards me.  ;D

Has George been online this afternoon?  The power is going out in a lot of areas down by him.  I just wondered if he had power at work?
