Topic of the Day:

I did some work before I left for the Asford residence.  Our publicist had sent me mapquest directions as I had no idea where they were.  Well, these directions were about as stupid as you could get.  It put me at least six miles from where I was actually going.  I finally got there, we took some photographs and then I left.

After that, I hurried to rehearsal for The Party Animals, this upcoming batch of shows with all the original players.  We did a run-through, I gave some notes and did two little staging changes, then left.

Oh, and we've been purged, but yes, send me the complete photobucket instructions.

I got back home at noon and had to finish creating our script for the fundraiser.  I then took it over to Staples and had it Xeroxed.  If we change the order it's very simple to deal with, as each song has its own pages of lyrics that aren't numbered in any way - we just have to remove and place them elsewhere.

I then came back, put the books into the packages and took them to the post office and they're all on their way now.

I then went to the mail place and picked up Rupert Holmes' item for our silent auction, which is very cool.  He gave me a complete cut song from Drood, one I knew nothing about - it's six pages long and on the front page he's written a note explaining the history of the song and then he's signed it.

I then proofed the program - she'd done about half of the fixes from Tuesday, so that part was a pain in the ASS, having to repeat myself.

I then decided to change the show order a bit, but I won't change it in the program, as there's no time - and I thoughtfully included a slug at the bottom of the show order program page that reads "Order subject to change".

I then made way too many telephonic calls and answered way too many e-mails.

I haven't had a chance to eat anything all day and I'm starving, but the afternoon rehearsals are about to start, so I'm afraid my food intake will have to wait until five-thirty.

I really don't want to do anything this evening, but I must begin to plan entrances and exits, which I have to have for our cast tomorrow.  Well, at least the members of the cast who are rehearsing tomorrow - some are rehearsing on Sunday.

And then there's creating the lighting script - which will probably take hours - I may save that for Saturday afternoon, but she of the Evil Eye comes in the morning, and I have a haircut at two, so my day is already wonky.  And Sunday is work, so it may have to be tonight after all, and I guess I won't go to the birthday party I'm supposed to attend tomorrow night.

That's OK--I saw the historical reenactment in "Life of Brian."

Speaking of which, DS Betsy is writing an actual routine for none other than John Cleese, who is going to be appearing in a documentary filmed here in l'il ol' Portland.  We're all very excited.

Great news for Betsy!! ;D

And I'm still smiling - but not at your pain.

Good morning!

Today, I go to endure an actual haircut at an actual salon -- it has been years since I did anything of the kind. But I'm gonna try looking professional for the marathon interview weekend in Seattle... even put clear polish on my nails.

The Chairman indicated that the meeting with the Staff is probably the most important Event of the weekend - they are spazzed out, suspicious, unhappy, hurt and angry that Their Guy is being replaced. I'll bring them candy.

MANY MANY VIBES TO DR PENNY O!!!!!!

In the Kaufman household I believe it's spelled "Brasil".

BK, I don't suppose you could secretly photocopy it and sell the copy/copies on the side??

She and Boo are playing chase each other around the house as fast as possible.  Well, they just took a break, but they've been playing for a while
