DR edisaurus - Thank you for a wonderful brunch!  I hope you and Greg have/had a safe and on-time trip back to Atlanta tonight.

*Did you find the Madeleine/Macaroon place?  ;)

My 89-year-old mother needs my attention today.  She needs me to:

1)  Set up a Yahoo! email account for her

and

2) Take her shopping so she can buy Scotch

I hope when I'm that age those are the kind of needs I have.

Me too! Have fun with your mom.

Heading down now to clean my bathroom and then head back to the den for more viewing. I haven't watched the ladies final skating from last night though I read the results in the newspaper this morning. I'm not sure I'm all that interested in watching it.

Hi Jose! I am just about over my illness which was diagnosed by my doctor as bronchitis. I did not go to work a single day last week.

Today, I'm to dress all in black...

Don't forget to accessorize - a small strand of seed pearls would do nicely.

I am caught up on today's posts. The cats are snoozing on the couch and I am catching up on Friday night's Monk and Psych episodes. All in all a pretty good afternoon.

Well, I am hoping that I can hold off until tomorrow to see my doctor.  I really can't afford to go to the Emergency Room today.  Thursday when I got home from work, when I was changing into my play clothes, I noticed that I had what is probably a spider bite on the upper inside of my arm.  if would be just below my bicep (If you could find my bicep).  It was red and a little puffy, and about the size of a dime.

I have been watching it carefully, because about ten years ago I was bitten by a spider that turned out to have been a brown recluse (similar to elmore).  By day three, my arm looked like Popeye's arm.  I originally ask my doctor if it was possible to find another brown recluse to bite the other arm, because I really liked the effect.  Fortunaely, or unfortunately, sanity prevailed and he lanced the bite and gave me some heavy-duty antibiotecs.

Well, although this bite is not quite so dramatic, it is now about the size of a quarter, very red, and hot to the touch.  I was hoping that the five weeks of antibiotecs that I had ingested since the start of December would have cut the poison, but apparently not.

DR TCB - Is there anyone you could call just to get a consult?  Or maybe even stop by a drugstore pharmacist's desk to get some sort of opinion?  Or you could Google for spider bite pics... :-\

CONGRATS to DR JOSE on his new blog. It looks great! A blog seems such a natural for you. I'll check in from time to time.

DR Jeanne - Thank You.

I had been toying with writing a blog for a while, and then after coming across some pretty decent ones over the past couple of months... and then realizing they were all WordPress-based, well...

The WordPress.com software really is amazing user-friendly, and the provided templates can make even drivel look like Shakespeare - and there are a few gussied up blab-fests out there.  It's also web-based, and free.  They also offer a stand-alone program if you happen to have your own hosting site, WordPress.org.

I'm still finessing some stuff, and there are bunch of blog and site links I still want to add, so...  But again...

Thank You.

Very much looking forward to hearing DRs FJL and JoseSPiano's reactions to the new production of Sunday...   :)

The last time I saw this show - which was during the Kennedy Center's Sondheim Celebration - I was sobbing violently during the finale, runny-nose and everything!  Thankfully, my friend, Michael, who had come with me, had brought a pack of Kleenex since he knew the show would be a cry-fest for me.  However, he was still surprised at my reaction to the show that night.  So...  We shall see... If anything, it will make a good blog entry.  ;)

Bedbug Begone to DR ELMORE.

A keyboard sounds like a great idea..

I was watching THE STERILE CUCKOO - Liza M. gives a nice performance, and it's so strange to see the college scenes from 1969 with all of the guys dressed just like we used to....and with all of our old hair....and haircuts.

Oh!  Word of "warning" - at least for the male members of HHW:

Paul is staying at The Paramount Hotel.  The bathrooms in the hotel lobby have mirrored walls.  On all four sides of the room.  With low-placed urinals, and no "modesty" dividers.  Alas, the homeless man who unfortunately came in there with me this afternoon, proceeded to admire himself and "himself" from all angles.  And I think he was trying admire me too.

 :o

You can always go into a stall...for future reference. :)

Are you quoting the homeless man in The Paramount's public restroom this afternoon?   :o

Well... I am actually trying to figure out already how to summarize my upcoming "mass audition" experiences.  I have UPTAs in Memphis the week after next, and then the big Spring SETC convention in Chattanooga the first week of March.

I know I will most likely write about the BBQ and other local delicacies in Memphis, and about the Choo-Choo in Chattanooga, but I am wondering just how "vague" I will/should have to be in regards to describing some of the more "interesting" auditions.  Stay tuned.

Classy, huh?

*However, I think it's set up that way since the lobby bathrooms also serve as the bathrooms for the lobby bar, which tends to attract a pretty decent-sized crowd on a nightly basis.  A lot of bathrooms - here in NYC and elsewhere - are now set up with the "bare essentials" in order to discourage patrons from using the facilities for unseemly purposes.

DR JoseSPiano - if you're using the stall as DR George suggests, wouldn't you be facing away from the opening with no door - and the mirrors?  :)
