That's enough for now.  I think I'm going to celebrate my day off with a quick nap... assuming I can convince Fletcher to share the bed!

Oh, before I forget...

DICTUM is MUTCID spelled backwards.

Well, if you have to have OCD, perhaps you should also be plagued with ADD - at least that way, you don't have to think about it for too long!

I had a very annoying printer issue, which is now fine, but it got me off to a very slow start today.  I think I've written close to four pages now, so it may be time to take a break and think about lunch.

He has been quite noticeably absent from posting the past 6 days.

I hope he's well and that nothing anyone (like me) has written has disturbed him.

Seems like Scott Hamilton published an autobiography fairly recently, too.

I had a hankering to see Boitano's gold medal winning free skate from 1988 - and then realized that it can probably be found on YouTube.  :D

I'm at work now, but will check that out later when I get home.

If not, I have it on videotape here.

What a beautiful day it turned out to be here. I didn't even need a jacket; just the sweater I was wearing was plenty.

I began my afternoon by finishing BLACKOUT which I had started last night. Though the liner notes said the movie was 95 mintes long, it was actually only 82 minutes long, so I could have finished it yesterday with no effort.

Anyway, it was an OK movie. The writing didn't really explore any of the characters in great depth (and some of them were worthy of a more thorough exploration), and after the one bad night of looting, the power came back on 24 hours after it went out, just as tempers were rising to a fever pitch. So a bit anticlimactic after such a build-up.

The disc also had a bunch of special features including 5 deleted scenes (a couple were just scene extensions with most of the scene in the finished movie), a Meet the Cast section (helpful since I didn't have a cast list to place actor with role easily), some behind the scenes featurettes, and an interview with the director.

I very quickly skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No Luke or Noah, and they weren't in the previews either though Lily and Holden were in both today's show and the previews.

One of the last things (or, actually, the last thing) MBarnum posted was that he loved "Hollywood and the Stars" and the theme music from same.

I've been wanting to tell him that there exists a recording by the composer, Elmer Bernstein with the RPO Pops, that has a really wonderful rendition of the "Hollywood and the Stars" theme.  The entire recording is "mixed" for me, as I think Bernstein took some of his tempi too slowly, but that particular track is the highlight of the album for me and makes it worth the price just to have it.

I completed my afternoon watching MURDER MOST FOUL. Hadn't watched it on the new TV. I have to give Warners props for transferring the four Rutherford/Marple movies with excellent results. The B&W is rich with beautiful contrast and superb sharpness, and the anamorphic transfers really are well done without a lot of distracting aliasing on parallel line structures.

Ron, I enjoy reading your posts of the skating competition.  There is so much to watch that I find it too difficult to do when Keith has absolutely no interest in skating.

Thank you.  See my previous post for a link to the YouTube clips of Boitano's 1988 Gold Medal performance.

Good Afternoon!

Well, that'll teach me to Blog!  I loaded a new text editor, and ended up deleting the last half of my most recent post.  ARGH!  However, I believe I've "retrieved" most of it, so... And the new text editor has a handy-dandy "local save" feature too.  I will be sure to take advantage of that.
