I can't tell you about DR TCB as we don't read each other's posts.

Later in the day I may be compiling a CD of my sundried versions of "Cry Me A River" and "Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out To Dry".

I blame MBarnum, Volare and Ebb Tide.

And as of this afternoon.....

WE HAVE A GRAND NEPHEW!!![/b]

Every time I think about the baby I get rather emotional.

My brother called me from the hospital, even before the baby was weighed.  All I know is he at least 8 pounds.  I'm waiting to hear more details.

I wasn't the only concerned one, my brother was and the mother wanted her mother with her in the room, which was ok with my nephew.  I think more family members would have been permitted if there weren't concerns during the deliver.  But all is well!   :D

Finally doing the second LP trasfer - that first one was a beast.  But, I'm listening to the fruits of yesterday's labor and they sound great, so it's worth the time, I suppose, and this is kind of my relaxing day, writing-wise (one or two more pages for sure, at some point today or tonight).

Congrats to Aunt Jane.  Not quite as exciting as a puppy but almost. Did MBarnum's brother make the delivery?

DR Tomovoz forgot:

(Let's see him wrangle his way out of this one!)

And I hope he doesn't grow as fast as DD Sherlock!  Some things should take their proper time!

Speaking of cooking, der B bought some challah a couple of days ago, and suggested it would make great French toast.

So, I'll be combining that with sausage and fruit.  An easy dinner for tonight.

On wood, on the wall, or on each other?

Listening to a marvelous 60s TV theme album by Harry Betts - it's swingin', man.

It was on Choreo records, one of my most favorite labels, which was owned by Mr. Fred Astaire (hence Choreo as in choreography).  Later, he changed the label name to Ava (as in Ava Astaire, his daughter).

LP transfer two is going much more smoothly than LP transfer one, and is almost done in about an hour's less time.

Yesterday's dinner was also by request of der B:

He spotted that recipe I posted a couple of days ago, the Lemon-Glazed Sweet Potatoes, and asked me to give it a try.  So I did.  It turned out very yummilicious, and I've a couple of ideas on how to improve on it for next time.

I paired it with a very nice ham steak and zucchini fritters, which der B is now saying he likes.

Tomorrow night's dinner will be leftover Beouf Bourgonionne, due to my switiching hours with a co-worker.  She has a late afternoon doctors appointment, which conflicted with her working the self-scan registers for the late afternoon/evening shift.  Since I was scheduled for the morning/early afternoon shift, it was easy for us to trade (with management approval, of course).

There's a catch to all this, of course.

Remember my rant from a few days ago, when I complained about having missed much of Lost's season three, due to work schedule conflicts, compounded by der B and myself never being able to co-ordinate our viewing of the stuff he recorded (thanks to his always having other stuff to record and watch).

Well, Lost's season opener lands right when I'm going to be at work tomorrow!

It might not be as bad as it initially sounds.  I'm supposed to have Friday off, and I was planning on making a batch of chicken stock.  It's a pretty low-maintenance job, so I should be able to watch the recorded stuff while the stock is in the oven.
