I tend to go overboard when I'm shortening things.

Thank G_d you didn't become a Mohel!

Best Wishes, TCB, for an end to your suffering.

And here's hoping we won't have to rename you Sir Lanced-a-lot!

Thanks Jane. Baby Zoey just made her first appearance 15 minutes ago. I'll have updates soon, after they've measured and weighed her.

I hope she wasn't as big as my nephew's newborn.  Did the delivery go well & not last too long?

LOL DR Laura.  Mine lasted longer than most so I consider shorter deliveries to be a breeze.

With Bryan my contractions began as we were driving to a gathering to welcome his cousin home from Vietnam.  We decided I would signal Keith & he would time them, without mentioning it to anyone.  While this is going on a woman there was telling me about the contractions her daughter had just experienced during a recent delivery.  Darn, I'm sitting there listening to the story & realizing the baby would have been born during the length of the party.  Four and a half days later, we had a baby.

They all last too long, Jane.

Tell me! All that pacing, and waiting, and pack after pack of cigarettes...and god-awful waiting room coffee.

I learned after the first one - I packed sandwiches and a thermos.

RE: last night's LOST finale rerun (no spoilers).

I just watched the 2 hour finale.  And wow that was quite interesting how they did it.

I think it made it much more useful for regular viewers. And i think it would have helped newer viewers a lot too.

(They had captions at the bottom of the screen telling us what everything meant, who everyone was).

I really enjoyed it. The only thing is it was quite distracting having to read that much. I really had no idea there would be that many captions.

Thank goodness times had changed before I had babies.  I told Keith if he wasn't in the delivery room with me we were adopting. ;D

TOD:

I also am planning to transfer the soundtrack of A Little Night Music from LP.

I'd also like to transfer my three "Starland Vocal Band" albums.  Most people know them only for "Afternoon Delight," but for fans of vocal harmony they did some really imaginative arrangements.

Their version of Paul Simon's American Dream is one of my favorite songs

LOL DR Laura.  Mine lasted longer than most so I consider shorter deliveries to be a breeze.

I think they go better each time.

First time - 2 days of long walks with contractions, 12 hours pacing halls in the hospital - finally went home for some sleep and was awaken the next day with a call from the Doctor. (Actually my Mother-in-law took the call, and the Dr. refused to give her any status and insisted on talking with me - so she had to wake me up!)

Second time - 6 hours of waiting room magazine reading.

Third time - trip to the hospital when were were sent home because it was "too soon".

Four hours later wife insisted we go back NOW!

Left wife at the admission station and returned to my car to get my "Delivery Kit" (Books, thermos, snacks). Back in the waiting room I was looking for a good seat when a Doctor came in and asked me if I wanted to see my son!

All family was banned from the delivery rooms - both in the commercial hospitals and the military hospitals.
