Staying in their boroughs, probably.

Well yes - if they see me out and about, they might do that.

I hope you have a sturdy umbrella and a high-impact helmet.

Well, I have a ton of desk work to do, so I planned to stay in today and do it.

The question is:  If they stay in their boroughs, however will we know whether they'll see their shadows or not?

Der B and I have caught up on last night's Lost.

The chicken stock is stocking, slowly and surely.

Well, two stalks of celery in each pot.

Plus two carrots.

And an onion, quartered, two quarters per pot.

And don't forget the parsley.

And the thyme.

And peppercorns.  And a clove of garlic in each.

An open love-letter to DR Jose:

I've added your blog to my top blog list.  That puts you right up there with Frank Bruni and Michael Ruhlman.

I accidently came across the website for a singer/pianist named Diana McIntosh, who hails from Canada... and I wonder if anyone here has ever heard of her? Her career has spanned decades...

The dogs are on alert.

Earlier today, a very nice young woman knocked on our door.  She's working on the house next door, the McGulag where a pipe burst and flooded the lower two floors.  They've turned off the water in the house, of course, but this makes for a complication any time anyone wants to flush the toilet.

Well, of course we're letting her fill a large bucket with water from our hose.  Not to do so would be unneighborly (not to mention stinky).

So, every time she shows up with the bucket, Mikey, Buster and Bonnie have to let us know that she's back.

It's going to be a noisy day.   :-\

Now I must plant some passion vines.

I believe that was one of the cut lines from the expurgated version of Streetcar.

When it rains it pours, home media-wise--went to Border's today and used a 40%, 30% and 20% coupon and got the Kurosawa Post-WWII box plus "Once" (and a book for the kids), then came home to find that El Cid had finally arrived (took a LOOOONG time--unusual for Amazon) along with a huge box of review DVDs, including another Criterion Eclipse set, this one the Lubitsch musicals.  So I will be a happy and busy viewer for the next several days.
