I liked Eli Hunter - the story was predictable, but I like Jonny Lee Miller.  And who should show up as his mother but Miss Pamela Reed (without the baseball bat she carried in KINDERGARTEN COP).

We shall see what happens.  The sassy, snappy, quippy black secretary played by Loretta Devine was an annoying cliche, but perhaps her character will be more defined as the show goes on.

I missed Pamela in a new show!  I can't believe it.  But isn't the character named Eli Stone?

I have no idea what you just said, Mike, but if it has something to do with the guy in the picture count me in!

Phoenix is currently crawling with celebrities, I understand. But then I wouldn't know a celebrity if one walked up to me and said, "Hello. I am a celebrity."

I'm with you Laura.  I would not know Britney, Nicole, Paris etc even we were sharing a taxi. I don't even recognise Sharon Stone or Angelina  unless they're wearing name tags.  I just do not understand "celebrity" watching.  I'd only recognise MBarnum if I went to a celebrity fair.

And what are the prices and the shipping costs?

I basically set the prices at or slightly below what the lowest price I saw from Amazon.com resellers, so...

Make me an offer. Seriously.

When he was here, DR JoseSPiano didn't comment upon the news reported earlier today about the revamped agreement for the original participants whose interviews helped to create A Chorus Line.  I presume there was talk about it today at the auditions.

Well, I knew that the negotiations have been going on for a while, but didn't realize that they were going public with the announcement - even if the exact terms are not being revealed.  In any case, I'm glad something was worked out.  I guess I should check over at achorusline.org for any other commentary.

I heard on the news that Paris is in town.

Slow news day, I guess.

I'm catching up on yesterday's posts.

There seems to be some confusion.  I never said that hicks were the only people who "like" football.

What I said was "Is anyone out there enough of a hick to explain the appeal of football?"  The referral (from DR Ginny, our expert information waitress) to Andy Griffith's routine helped greatly.

No, there was no confusion.

Speaking of books being read, I'm working my way through WATER FOR ELEPHANTS, a highly original novel set in the circus world of the 1930s.

WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL BOOK!

No cake yet.   I bought a mixer and will bake a pineapple upside down down cake since my mother is not alive to do it anymore (it was her thing).   And since the place with the Oreo Cake closed, that is out of the question.  But there WILL be cake.

I've had a great day so far--- Laura took me to breakfast and a long walk through a lovely old neighborhood.  I took MusicGuy to lunch for fish and chips (at at a dive i've been frequenting since 1959), and I took Sugar for a walk on this nice sunny day.  :)
