I'm sure DRs TCB and MBarnum have already booked their flights to catch this:

Oh, for heaven's sake, Coleslaw!  What am I going to do with someone that young?  Throw him over my shoudler and burp him???

I'm not a dog person (I like them, but I wouldn't want one on my own), but I work with A LOT of dog people.  This is a very sweet story and I know a couple of people who have gotten their dogs this same way. :)

Didn't you say that about cats before you adopted your cat?

I don't use either product so you'll have to leave them to DR MBarnum yourself.

Well...not NOW you don't.  Who knows what the story will be in another 25-30 years!!!

Interesting article from Michael Riedel about

Randy Quaid

Seems he has been disciplined for his behavior during the out-of-town tryout of Lone Star Love (which closed in Seattle). Looks like the entire cast found his behavior "less than professional"

That was certainly the word on the street in Seattle.

For those that read CABARET SCENES magazine and I know everyone here does........

I have one of my photos being published in connection with an interview with Mr. Jason Graae. Mr. Graae himself requested the photo. (It's with him and Alex Rybeck)

Very nice, congratulations!  Anyway I can see the photo on-line?

OH!

And as for tomorrow morning...

The audition was off.

Then on again.

The off again.

Then on again.

Then it was off again - and this time they sent over an intern from the office to deliver me a beautifully written handwritten note thanking me for helping them out today, and offering to help them out tomorrow.  Now that's a Good Office.  :)

However, I still got a chance to play for Francesca Zambello today, and I may be playing for Paul Gemignani sometime in the near future still.  :)

What class!  :)  I'll consider the event postponed & you will have a chance in the near future.

Do you ever dine at The Sportsman's Lodge?

Did you decide to stay there?

Were these letters she didn't have access or did she save some of them?  Do you know how many have survived?

There are several editions of her existing letters, and I'm sure there's a history of what Cassandra destroyed; go to Amazon.com and look for "Jane austen letters."

Thanks to everyone who asked about Evan my neighbor.  Sorry I haven't been around today to acknowledge the comments.

Evan is home and not in the hospital.  Interesting question, DR JANE, I don't think they have airbags in those vehicles which are more like SUV's than ambulances....the EMT jeep type things.

News reports now say that the 45 year old man driving the SUV crossed a double yellow line.  The EMT Captain (a 17 year veteran) had taken the wheel even though Evan had always driven before.  He swerved the vehicle and the driver's side took the heaviest hit.

Evan was conscious and had only minor injuries.  He took his own pulse, and was taking the pulse of his co-worker, when the Captain died.  Evan got out of the vehicle, called the police on his cell phone, and set up the perimeter with yellow tape....he didn't really collapse until the another Emergency vehicle arrived.  He spent Monday night in the hospital - and will attend the funeral on Saturday in a new Dress Uniform.

My sister and I went over awhile ago to talk to him and his Mom and sister.  When we asked them if they wanted anything, Evan said he would like a Heath Bar Blizzard from Dairy Queen....so we went to get one for everybody.

Life is precious and tenuous.

DR edisaurus - Trust me, my whole BBQ tour is already planned.  Plus a visit or two to The Cupboard - my favorite "meat and three"; Gus' Fried Chicken - truly some of the best fried chicken I've ever had (and it's cooked to order!); and Dinstuhl's Candies for their Chocolate Covered Grapes and Cashew Crunch!  YUM!!!!!!!!

BK question:

Do you ever dine at The Sportman's Lodge?

If you go back and read your Benjamin Kritzer book (towards the end) you will see that I have indeed eaten there, as far back as 1957.  I've eaten there several times recently.  Food is decent but not exceptional and prices, while not REALLY expensive, are on the higher side.

Did you decide to stay there?

Actually I just booked myself into some cheap motel in Glendale, but I do plan to eat at The Sportsman's Lodge at some point during my trip. After all, if it was good enough for Allison Hayes to dine at, it is good enough for me!

I read through today's pages, fixed a few things, and I'll look at them one more time before printing out later.

I think I shall go celebrate having finished a novel.

Miss Allison Hayes and Mr Sy Devore were quite the twosome spending many evenings dining at the Sportmans Lodge - of course she also dined there with Bobby Gordon.

I was using an ice pack on my buttockcks the first wo days (not in public) and and am now using a heat pack a few times a day.  Kind of makes me look like I'm Hindu or am wearing Depends.  Thihngs are improving though.

Today, I saw, "The Bucket List" and highly recommend it

I also had BBQ.

Kinda sounds like the time we went to Las Vegas.
