Though not precisely a Bollywood movie, it's a Canadian-Indian production, I think that many DRs here would really like WATER, a film by Deepa Mehta.  I know that DR Jane would like it.

I heard TCB LIKES to be squished!

I'm sure he does, but not in a public arena.   ;)

Good Evening!

Well... When I called down to the Front Desk earlier to inquire about the shuttle to Beale Street, the very kind lady informed me that one would be leaving a little after 3:30.  So, a little before 3:30 I headed down to the lobby, and asked once again about the Beale Street Shuttle - "Oh, yes, just a little after 3:30, it'll be right out front."

Well, after sitting outside for a bit - which was fine since the fresh air felt good - I went back to the desk and asked about the Beale Street shuttle.  -"Oh, you have to have a party of six in order to get the free shuttle.  I'm sorry for the mix up."  Well... OK.

So, I headed back out of the hotel, and after crossing the road/highway...

Speaking of Neely...

J.C. Superstar is coming to our "Cobb Energy Performance Arts Center". This is a new venue, so I think it might be a good excuse to check it out. IIRC, DR George, you had good things to say about Ted Neeley in this production?

Has anyone bothered to tell Mr. Neeley that Christ died when he was 33!  Ted has got to be sixty, at least.

Alas, I was not able to partake of any "substantial" pulled Pork BBQ, but this was certainly substantial...

I spent the remainder of the afternoon moving the bed around the apartment, moving CD shelves, vacuuming and dusting.  I worked out a lot of anger.

I think I like the new bed frame, but I'll be happier when I order the box springs and can actually sleep on it.  I've decided I need another filing cabinet and a floor lamp.  And winning the lottery.

...And due to the very generous serving, my "after" picture, looked very much like the "before" picture above.

*And those hush puppies were some of the best of I've ever had.  Not only did they contain kernels of corn, but they were also seasoned with bits of finely diced jalapeno peppers.  They weren't hot/spicy, they just had a nice fresh "sharpness" to them which played wonderfully against all the deep-fried cornmeal goodness.

It's like watching 50 year-old Renata Tebaldi playing Madama Butterfly and telling Pinkerton that she's 18!

...Which reminds me of the press photo in the NY Times earlier this week of The Met's current production of Bizet's "Carmen".  Olga Borodina is essaying Carmen once again, however, I have to say, you can really tell that she's most definitely not a natural brunette...

No, that part is better, so I'm giving it a couple of days.  Marshall DRLaura has been sworn in to ask me on Sunday (and push me to do the right thing, if necessary).

Good for Marshall DRLaura! :D

I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that I'll be getting my "Perfect Strangers" (seasons 1/2) today.

I'm also expecting a Toshiba upconverting DVD/VHS recorder/player.

They're HERE!  They're HERE!

I'm doing a Myposian Sheepherder's Dance of Joy in my head.

Or the 80-something (oh, all right!  She's 87 this year!) Carol Channing playing the 40-something Dolly Levi (or is that a 30-something Dolly Levi?)

Isn't Dolly described by Wilder as a "woman of indeterminate age"? I personally loved the 80 year-old Carol Channing in the last revival and the one before that around 1978.

TOD

Ms Andrews was robbed of an oscar nominations for either Duet For One or That's Life. She was amazing in the former and touching in the latter, My guess is that the votes got split amd that allowed Jane Fonda to sneak it. I believe that Andrews strengths as a dramatic actress are oftened overlooked. Her work in the Americanization of Emily and Hawaii are equally compelling and could have brought her a nomination if it wasn't for The Sound of Music.

I also enjoyed her work in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Star, Our Sons and The Taramind Seed.

As for Mr. Gardner

My favorites are Support Your Local ___________ films, I liked him in the Great Escape but there were many enjoyable performances in that one. They Only Kill Their Masters which was the last movie to be shot on the MGM backlot before it was demolished, The TV film Promise. Hour of the Gun

Looking forward to the new Eli Stone this evening.

Pwoject Wunway elimination was okay with me.....but the one outfit with the chaps didn't seem to have ANY trunks or shorts underneath, folks!  From the walk away shot, it looked like only the net hosiery.
