I have been dieting since January 2 in an effort to be slim and trim by the time we head up to Canada this August for Vixdad's niece's wedding.

According to Ye Olde Bathroom Scale effective today I am 16 pounds lighter than I was then

Congratulations!

...there's nobody like a drag queen/drag-queen designer to properly outfit a WWE female wrestling star!

;D

Was there ever a doubt?

Nothing. She works all day. She says she has nothing to say.

This job is really cutting into our play time.

It's like watching 50 year-old Renata Tebaldi playing Madama Butterfly and telling Pinkerton that she's 18!

When I saw her Cio-Cio San-ing, she was a wisp of a lass of a mere 34 - a tad more believable.

This has been quite a long, interesting and at times rough week at work. I am looking forward to putting in one last day tomorrow and then escaping to california for a week.

No hamburgers, no mac'n'cheese, no caesar salads, etc.

Good grief - give him some reason to go on living!

My roommate and I just watched the premiere episode of Lipstick Jungle. I don't think we'll do that again. We found the dialogue to be of the not so great variety.

I finished PROJECT RUNWAY when I got the home theater running again. Had no problem with the person sent home, but I wasn't as impressed with the winner's outfit as the judges were. Admittedly, they kept saying how expensive it looked, and I didn't see that, so perhaps I couldn't have been exactly fair to it. The person who finished next to last got on my last nerve for the entire show. I REALLY wanted this person gone.

I finished the bonus features on the POWER RANGERS set. Nothing especially new or special about them. I guess the game will be fun for kids, but maybe people have more responsive remotes than mine is. I always seemed to be about half a beat behind even though I was pressing the button as soon as it was possible to register a button press. Oh, well.

SMALLVILLE had a nice episode tonight with the return of the Green Arrow and the addition of the Black Canary. But I have to say that "secret identities" don't seem to be very secret any more in Smallville. Everyone seems to know everything about everybody.

LOST was sensational with lots of new stuff to intrigue, confound, and excite.

And the show looked especially impressive in HD tonight. The show always stands out, but tonight in particular it seemed razor-sharp and very dimensional with the photography.

Did those of you with HDTVs think so?

Enjoyed ELI STONE very much. Victor Garber got to sing, and it was very entertaining. The plot might not have captured my fancy quite as much as last week, but it was still enjoyable.

Well, I should actually start getting ready for bed.  The actor's briefing is at 8:00 tomorrow morning, and I'd like to get on the first bus from here to the venue which is at 7:00.  It will be interesting to see how many singers we'll have tomorrow since they're all scheduled to go in the first part of the day.  I could be done as early as 2:00... And if that happens, I may go head and take the shuttle back to the airport and rent a car.  I was just checking out the rental rates here, and with the convention discount, it's only about $22.00/day.  Not bad at all.  We shall see.

Goodnight.

And I recorded SUPERNATURAL tonight (in HD; thankfully there was no basketball game preempting it this week), so I'll watch that tomorrow during lunch preparation and consumption.

Oh, I forgot to mention that as I waited for prime time to begin, I watched another episode of NCIS. This was the one with the blind photographer who mistakenly photographed a dead body. John Billingsley played the photographer.

DR MBarnum, there is NO WAY that my first experience with Bollywood is going to be a piecemeal affair with my hopping through a movie. I will see it from beginning to end like any other movie as I can ascertain its effectiveness for me.

But I'm not seeing much daylight to watch any new films for pleasure this month. The stack of review material I have waiting is pretty staggering (right now: three Criterion sets, two TV box sets, two children's cartoon series, and three films - due on or before February 26th). I can occasionally slip in a 45 minute episode of some TV mystery or watch a film I've already seen before over the course of three or four days while I'm cooking and eating lunch, but that's not the way I want my first Bollywood experience to be.

Believe me, when I get a lengthy amount of free time, I'll head to Bollywoodland!

I'm still blecccch, but couldn't be happier - just got muse Margaret's call about the last fifty-three pages of the book, and she declared them perfect and she was so wonderfully effusive and, as always, very specific about what she liked.

The interesting thing about the long sequence at the end is that it was a goal of mine when I began the book - to do the ending in a certain way - and at first I didn't feel there would be any way to meet the goal.  But, by the time I got to page two hundred I realized I might be able to work it out, and I did.  The last thirty pages, as most of you know, were a real slog, and frequently very frustrating, but I got where I wanted to go, I guess.
