Ah, yes, ORCA!  Didn't Bo Derek win an Oscar for that film? ;)

No, I think it was Martha Raye :)

How could you have forgotten--she refused her nomination as a sign of solidarity with those with natural cornrows.

Good Afternoon!

Lunch!

-I'm just having a banana and an apple.  And maybe some chocolate.  After I'm done today, I shall be heading out for fried chicken, I believe.  Or ribs.  Or...  *A bunch of the staff ordered fried chicken from Gus' for lunch which is where I want to go, so...  We shall see.

And here's a link:

http://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=24621

I love Fred Willard and Cathy Rigby!

The article says:

Quote
Eric is most widely known for his critically hailed comic portrayal of the Pharaoh in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, touring with the production nationally for four consecutive years.

Four consecutive years as the Pharaoh is JOSEPH?  Is that supposed to be a good thing?

I also love Cathy Rigby.

DR Jane - The Cupboard's Lemon Meringue Pie and Lemon Icebox Pie are different animals, well, at least different pies.  The filling for their Lemon Meringue is definitely a custard - no condensed milk in it.  The Lemon Icebox Pie filling is basically lemon-flavored condensed milk with eggs added for "body". ;)

TOD:

A shout-out to the Disney True-Life Adventures which are all splendid animal-based productions. The wizards at Disney back then were able to give these animals personalities that made the nature documentaries more personal and very involving.

One of the Bluths from Bluth Brothers Theatre--Don Bluth--worked for Disney as an animator. He drew birds. At a cast party, Don was asked to do his bird imitation. It was incredibily realistic. In order to draw birds well, of course, one must study them. Don had so many of the movements, so many of the nuances.

DR MATTH, I believe, was referring to documentaries rather than animation. But, as DR GEORGE would say, I just had to pass that on.

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Quote
MAN CONVICTED OF MURDER FOR HIDING WIFE'S BODY IN AUSTRALIA BACKYARD FOR 23 YEARS

MELBOURNE, Australia —  A man who hid his wife's body for 23 years in a steel drum in the couple's suburban Australian backyard was convicted Saturday of her murder.

Frederick Boyle, 58, claimed he hid the body of Edwina Boyle out of panic after finding her dead in bed at their home on the outskirts of the southern city of Melbourne on Oct. 6, 1983.

He had pleaded not guilty to her murder at the outset of his weeklong trial, but a Victoria state Supreme Court jury found him guilty Saturday.

Boyle told the court this week he found his 30-year-old wife dead in bed with two bullets in her head and one of his neckties around her throat.

He said he thought he would be a suspect because he was having an affair, so he hid her body.

"Obviously, I didn't want to be charged with a murder I didn't commit," he told the court.

The couple migrated from Wales in 1972.

Boyle had told his two daughters their mother ran off with a truck driver, but a son-in-law found the remains in the 45-gallon drum while tidying the yard in October 2006.

The moral of this story: always do your own tidying up.

Thank you for defining the difference.  Sometimes I see recipes for lemon meringue pie made with condensed milk, which never seems right to me. I love my meringue but I'm still looking for the perfect pie filling.

Vibes for DR Elmore's neighbor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I actually think you should talk to her.  you don't have to tell her that you heard her crying. but just say you were thinking about her and wondering if she was okay.

Sorry to hear about the job prospect, DR Kerry.  Perhaps there is someone needing to hire a bowtie expert?

I guess it's the "fiddling" part of them that frustrates me...I like instant gratification!
I'll be glad to teach you  from the rear--it work best that way!!!!!  Trust me!!!!!!
