I have encountered a prob... High def screens might not be good for HOH and CC..

However HD tellys are fine....

A peice of trivia here...

Close Encounters of the Third Kind was one of the first HOllywood release to encrypt closed captioning in its video release

DR Cillaliz - I believe my parents have that Vizio model.  They like it a lot.  And I like it too.  -If that means anything.

-I will admit to not being that much of a video-phile, but when switching between regular television broadcasts and high-definition ones... WOW!  :)

My computer guy at work has a Vizio and is totally sold on how wonderful it is.  He has an outdoor antenna and says he can already get a lot of stations just using antenna. I didn't realize that each station broadcasts more than one program. I don't quite get it, but he gets three different shows from our public tv station at one time. Does that make any sense?

DR CILLA LIZ, I have a 37" Polaroid that I have had for about a year that I like very much.  With most shows broadcast in Widescreen, I don't know if the difference between 32" and 37" is crucial.

The Memorex sounds interesting.

Three?  Hmm.. Well...

I know that on my parents' system, some of the high-def versions of the networks will broadcast different shows in some slots on the High-Def version if the show that they are currently showing on their "regular" station is not in HD.  I know FoodTV-HD is quite different from regular FoodTV.  Their local PBS affiliate also seems to have different programming running at the same time on their channels.

Tonight's Lawrence Welk Show is a tribute to Irving Berlin.

Chances are that when that Lawerce Welk Show first aired, Irving was still alive.

Sometimes we have three programs from our PBS station....one regular and one HD....and then another with the national feed.

DR MATTH - now MR BK has Portrait in Black/Madame X and Tammy....grrrrrr.

However after some thinking - I cannot remember that last time you, DR RLP, and I ordered the EXACT same DVD!!

No wonder there is a shortage.  Those Debbie and Sandra fans have been waiting a LONG time for their Tammy.....well OUR Tammy.

Hopefully they are pressing more as we speak.

That is a pretty good recommendation from Jose, considering the fact that he can't eat it.

Cook's Illustrated has a great Lemon Meringue Pie recipe.  Alas, like most CI recipes, it's a bit fussy, and sort of takes the fun out of cooking, but it is good.  Just the right consistency, and a good balance of sour and sweet.

Is that the Mile High Lemon pie or The Ultimate Lemon Meringue Pie?  There are two recipes named, I have to join to actually obtain the recipes.

 ;D

I agree. I watched it when I was at Sam's club with my parents a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe the price.  I just got a check I've been waiting for from the feds and should have my income tax refund this coming week. So I just may go splurge tomorrow.  I think I'll at least go look. I went to 3 different stores today. I can hit Best Buy and Sam's Club tomorrow

The whole new television thing scares me to death.  I used to pride myself on keeping up with what was current in electronics and computers. But lately, I feel like someone has shipped by brain back to the 20th century (Fox).

According to the Sam's Club website they have it in stock here in town, so I'll go down there tomorrow and see what it looks like.

Matt H, do you have any input on this?

Thank you, I just found it on another recipe site.  After looking at the recipe, I think it would take an hour to copy it, with pencil & paper ;D

I'm curious what the difference is between the fillings on their two pies.  At least I have this one & I will try it the next time I have a craving to make a pie.  Personally I would rather have the option to pick up a single tart from time to time.  It's hard to find good ones, especially around here.
