What a town without pita can do

 ;D

We don't got no Pita Pit here!

And...we had dinner at the restuarant formerly know as the Grape Leaf Grill. DR Jose has been there in the past. They are a Vietnamese restaurant and they had a dish that I could almost live on---their salmon wrapped in grape leaves over their noodle/salad bowl. We used to always go there if we were in Marietta at dinner time (after we moned that is...)

So, now it has a new name and NO MORE GRAPE LEAVES! I am so disappointed!

We will probably rarely go there now, as it's really just standard Vietnamese food and we can get that in Atlanta. They are cheap, tho---my dinner was under 8 bucks. Ah well...

Dog Bosco is staying at my co-workers home. They lost their dog a few months back and wanted to have Bosco for the week...he will be having a blast there, as well as trying on all sorts of clothing styles!

The house sitter will also be doubling as the cat sitter.

Just remember - no matter how wise the purchase, in about a month something better will always come along :D

Better...and cheaper.

Well, you have to seal off all the cracks in your suitcase, for one thing. And pack lots of batteries!

It's very easy to get to Glendale. Just do some mapquest printouts before you leave.

We made it there easily (apart from the horrible traffic!) to bk's book signing.

For a brief glimpse of Lauren Bacall and the original cast of Applause from the Tony show that year, see here.

In case anyone is interested that was the late Mark Hellinger Theater and they were in front of the set from Coco

I really don't think I'm going to fit in any BBQ this time due to my latest indulgences.

DR Matt H - Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I was hoping you would weigh in on this. I feel much better about this and I do believe I will pick up the 32 inch Vizio tomorrow. There are 2 different 32inch Vizios, but Sam's has the one that has PIP and POP in stock.  So I'll spend a part of my refund on a new TV and the rest will go to practical things like bills.

Oh what fun!

Could you send me a link to a picture/stats on the model you're going to buy? I just wanted to check out the stats for you just for safety sake. I want you to be sure you're getting the most for your money.

RE: the new ABC series Eli Stone.

What is the biggest fantasy aspect of this new show?

A)  That someone as goofy looking as Eli can have a fiancee as great looking as whatever her name is.

B)  That Victor Garber can break out in song in the middle of his law office.

C)  That, once again, we're being treated to a San Francisco that has NO GAY PEOPLE IN IT!!!

And what is Victor Garber??

Last night we watched the documentary about the Z Channel. It was very interesting, but it could use some snippage. 120 minutes was just too long!

I have a special fondness in my heart for the Mark Hellinger Theatre. My first New York show was at the Mark Hellinger (MY FAIR LADY). I saw wonderful things there. I guess SUGAR BABIES was the last show I saw there.

We started out watching MONDO MOD. It was really horrible, and not in the good sense.

It was not in the same league as MONDO TEENO, although both movies had cameramen who went on to before quite famous.

I am going to cut off all my fingernails now, since I broke several while murdering trees today.

When I return, I will be typing a little better, I hope.

Glad to hear that bk's tummy is better!

As far as flat soda, you don't have to wait for them to go flat. Just pour them back and forth between two glasses a few times and that will take out the fizz.

Did merlin come before or after Suger Babies?

My computer guy at work has a Vizio and is totally sold on how wonderful it is.  He has an outdoor antenna and says he can already get a lot of stations just using antenna. I didn't realize that each station broadcasts more than one program. I don't quite get it, but he gets three different shows from our public tv station at one time. Does that make any sense?

My sister had Vizios in her townhouse in Raleigh and they seemed really nice (though they were HUGE).

Yes, Cilla, once you upgrade to digital, you'll have access to several broadcast signals from one provider.  Typically you'll have the basic channel (e.g., 2), then the alternates, like 2-1, 2-2, 2-3.  Our local PBS station has 4 or 5 signals, though 2 of them usually broadcast the same stuff simultaneously.
