Tuesday morning greetings!  From my employer's website:

"Due to the weather, all Dayton Metro Libraries (Main and all branch locations) are on a 2 hour delay this morning, Tuesday, February 12."

Of course, the phone call notifying me of this arrived after I was up and showered, so here I am.  Now, will we eventually close all together or will I sacrifice another vacation day and just not go in?

DR GINNY we got less than 2 inches of snow - no matter that they said 3 inches of ice and sleet followed by 3-5 inches of snow.

Never mind that they said that ALL day yesterday....I think you got more snow than we did, and it continues for you.

Who knows what will happen?  We do have icy roads.....

DR CILLA LIZ - sorry.  I just read a headline on the way to HHW last night that said Uno was a beagle that might take it all.....I wasn't forecasting results.....still don't know how it all turned out.

DR JRand - it's the ICE that has me worried.  I can hear it hitting the windows as I type.

Good morning, all! I slept quite well last night for the first timein over a month.  At 2:34 am I woke to a panic attack that something had crawled across my hand, jumped out of bed, turned on all the lights and looked all over the sheets for any sign of bugs.  Nothing at all.

I must say that I really like the new configuration of my apartment, and I'm quite happy that a lot of needless things have been tossed.  I plan to continue this process for the next month or so, along with the weekly Steri-Fab mopping and daily vacuuming.  And, outside of the current financial woes, the timing for this situation could not have been better in terms of my work load.  Speaking of finances, I heard from my cabaret lady, and I think she's mailing the check tday (fingers crossed!).

This morning, I'm off to Toyland to copy all of my Lady Of The Slipper programs for the report I'm writing.  And I'll stop and buy the new gallon of Steri-Fab.

That's how I'm leaning, DR Singdaw, but don't want to declare myself too early.  If I call in chicken and elect to take a vacation day and they later decide to close, I still get charged the hours.  So, I'm playing the waiting game...

DR Elmore - I think the cabaret lady should hand-deliver that check along with a casserole and a batch of home-baked brownies.

And The Song Of The Day Is:  WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
Alternate Selection: We're Gonna be All Right

That word has one of the more bizarre etymologies; there's four or five speculatory roots for it. I think the Hebrew kol b'seder is a likely one just because I assumed that that's what my colleague was saying the first time I heard him use it...

The overture to On the Town, "Some Other Time"
This always sounds somewhat heretical, but I've never been the world's biggest Candide or West Side Story fan. I enjoy seeing productions of both, but neither score really blows me away, with the exception of the "Tonight" quintet.
Not familiar enough with the non-theatrical material to have a real opinion on that side.

Well, the county where we live (not the one where I work) has declared a Level 2 snow emergency and the Miami U campus that's near here is closed today (they rarely close - I used to work there).  Think that's excuse enough?
