The only good Chooster is

LOL!!

Gave me my first huge laugh of the day. Thanks!

I remember that you weren't a fan of Chooster. I never had any problem with it/him/her. Can it be SO long ago since that series of pictures? Wow!

Today I'll be beginning Jean-Luc Godard's PIERROT LE FOU from Criterion. Thankfully, no more TV box sets on the February horizon, but I do have the four disc box set of THE LAST EMPEROR coming up. Probably won't get to it until the weekend or even next week.

TV Reminders:

BIG BROTHER ande JERICHO begin anew tonight.

A new BOSTON LEGAL airs tonight.

AMERICAN IDOL has the two hour Hollywood round tonight which will be the first time I'll be watching the show in weeks. (Thus, no HOUSE tonight. New episodes of HOUSE are over anyway until the show renews production.)

I took out the second season of THE ODD COUPLE which I'll watch a couple of episodes of while I cook and eat lunch this afternoon before starting on the Criterion disc.

There is a lot on my tv schedule for tonight. For some reason the 9pm slot has 3 shows that i watch (AMERICAN IDOL, ONE TREE HILL and BIG BROTHER).

I think I will watch the first hour of IDOL at 8pm. And then switch to the premiere of BIG BROTHER.  Then I'll record BOSTON LEGAL.

I must say the Hollywood part of IDOL is my absolute favorite. And considering how much time they spend on the auditions, I wish they made the Hollywood part 2 weeks worth of shows instead of just today and tomorrow.

Hopefully some of the really good singers that they featured will make it to the top 20 (or however many it is this year).

I agree with you DR Jennifer. I love the Hollywood rounds, and I would think tremendous tension could be worked up for a series of episodes showing the intense pressure they're all under to perform.

Inevitably, the Hollywood round episode is the lowest rated of the season, and I've never understood why.

Dear reader Kerry sent me this photo of he, Laura, Sandra standing in front of what was once my father's restaurant, the Kiru (the Erro in the Kritzer books), located at 3474 W. 8th St.

Sweet.

I should have told them to go around the block to my father's office. ;)

OK, I've officially sacrificed 8 hours of vacation time to the weather gods.  Now I can relax and enjoy my day off.

That daddy must be truly shallow; he's very plastic. ;)

My Berstein Faves:

ALL of WONDERFUL TOWN, including "Pass That Football;"  I have nearly as many recordings of WONDERFUL TOWN as I do of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN and BLOOD BROTHERS.

ALL of ON THE TOWN; remake this for theaters, or even tv, with the score intact!

Most of CANDIDE; I've only got three recordings. . . :'(

All of TROUBLE IN TAHITI.

ALL of MASS.  Also love Barbara Cook's recording of "Sing God a Simple Song,"  I was there at Carnegie Hall for that recording!

EVERY NOTE of WEST SIDE STORY.

I'm not at all familiar with his PETER PAN.

We may get over seven inches before it's through!
After it's through, it's supposed to turn to freezing rain before turning back into SNOW AGAIN!

DR Ginny, I’m glad you won’t be driving on the icy roads today.

Thanks, Jane.  I always feel like kind of a wimp when I do this, but we're supposed to have freezing rain all day.  Snow's one thing, ice is another all together.
