Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a Latin rhythm to them, and now it is time for you to post until the Latin cows come home.

George and der Brucer sitting in a tree like so much fish - they certainly haven't been posting while they've just been sitting there for the last FORTY-FIVE minutes.

I watched a couple of TV shows from last night, and was going to watch last week's "Lost," but I got distracted.  I was on Amazon.co.uk, looking at getting a CD for my niece (her birthday is in April) and I found that the Dawn French series "Murder Most Horrid[/b]" is being released on DVD!!!  I LOVE THIS SHOW!!  It's how I first discovered Dawn French, and then French and Saunders, then AbFab, and then a whole bunch of other British TV shows.  But this is what started it all for me. :D It's not being released until March 10, so I have to wait...but I WILL!! ;D

A Question for BK and Anyone...has anyone else seen this show?  What did you think?  I saw it on PBS and instantly fell in love with it.

It seems two incumbent Maryland Congressmen are being unseated in yesterday's primary.

A centrist Democrat was unseated by a radical left challenger because:

he  had initially voted to support the war in Iraq.

A centrist Republican was unseated by a far-right challenger because:

he voted in favor of setting a timetable for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

He has also faced intense criticism from opponents over immigration - they accused him of supporting blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants, which he says isn't true. He has backed legislation to expand existing temporary-visa programs that would help provide workers for agriculture and the seafood and tourist industries.  NOTE: He had Bush's endorsement.

His reputation for being too Green hurt him with developers, and his support for a woman's right to choose, stem cell research and gay rights makes him anathema to the bible thumpers.

So - two long term centrists each get the heave-ho from their extreme wing-nuts.

The net result - a schizophrenic electorate votes for even more polarization in Washington.

We used to enjoy "Murder most Horrid" DR George.

Our current viewing includes the 1990's series from Scotland "The High Life" - Alan Cummings (and I've not been a fan of what I've seen of his more recent performances).

Wow, the unusually-titled musical THE SLUG BEARERS OF KAYROL ISLAND at the Vineyard seems to have gotten great reviews from the most important theater critics.

The bad weather has finally hit Manhattan. It snowed last night and now it's raining (so the snow will be gone soon). It's supposed to be in the high 40s today and tomorrow is supposed to be clear and bright for Val Day.

Speaking of which, we will celebrate by going to a screening of What's Up Doc at Chelsea Clearview Cinemas (Where Dreams Come True). There is a pre-show hosted by

Hedda Lettuce

and the chance to win "fabulous" door prizes (no doors, though just door prizes).

It will be fun me thinks. I haven't seen What's Up Doc since it first came out in 1972.

Belated comment on yesterdays TOD, fave Bernstein songs are DREAM WITH ME, I am Easily Assimilated(altho all the irony of the lyric was lost on my 10 year old mind 1st time I heard it)America, (+the mambo) and Take Care of this House......Re politics mentioned by Der brucer, I think it is going to get worse before it gets better; And tho I've been to many prayer meetings since the 70's-none in the last 10 years-and mass, of course(I'm RC), I've never actually seen anyone thump a bible; I've seen melon thumping at the supermarket, but the only b-thumping I've ever seen was in Elmer Gantry.......BK Quest for the Day: Could you ask Jason Graae, my favorite boy singer(a non pejorative-Bryn Terfel is # 2 fave boy singer)when he will next be performing in Chi; An NYC trip is not on the books for this year, but I think I could make the windy city, If I knew in advance Mr G would be there.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Back to work today - the weather is much improved.  Driving isn't too bad, but walking is tricky - sidewalks and parking lots are still very icy.

Today is my first 2008 brownbag lunch for nonprofit folks, so my workday began at Kroger buying cookies and chocolate.  At least I don't have to worry about the guest speaker showing up, because it's MOI.  I'm doing a database demo, so let's hope all the AV works as it should.

Good morning, all! I love New York on snowy mornings: it's quiet and, except for the occasional scrape of a a shovel against concrete,  it's serene and  the dark sky makes it seem earlier than it is.  I snuggled up to my pillow until around 9 am, and then I got out of bed, showered, moved the bed about the apartment trying various places until I decided it was best where it had been, and now I'm all caught up on posts.

Last night was a lousy tv night, so around 9:30 I decided I wouldn't wait up for LAW & ORDER: SVU.  I did watch on Channel 21 an episode of ROSEMARY AND THYME, which seems a weak mystery series although I love Felicity Kendall.  I read a bit from a selection of Jane Austen's letters and went to bed.

Today, more on The Lady Of The Slipper and waiting for a delivery from Staples.

Good morning!

Chilly and rainy this morning. Looks to be clearing just a bit at the moment, but we need the rain so much that I will NOT complain. We were 14 inches below normal last year, and this year we're creeping already toward being 2 inches below normal and it's only mid February.

Today I'll be watching MARGOT AT THE WEDDING with pen and pad in hand. It's only 91 minutes, so depending on the bonuses, I might actually have time today to see something for fun.
