Song for the cows

(to the tune of "Five Foot Two")

Four-foot two, eyes of blue
But oh what those four feet could do
Has anybody seen my cow?

Runny nose, hooves for toes
Heifer, yes sir, one of those
Has anybody seen my cow?

But if you run into a four foot two
sporting some horns
Evil eyes, batting flies
You can bet your life no calves were born

But oh the milk,
Oh the cream
Fastest cud you've ever seen
Has anybody seen my cow?

I've been having a nice day. I did three loads of laundry--not fun, but needed--read lots of posts, then took a walk. The sun is out--it's a bit chilly, but dressable. I bought a cute birthday card for a friend, had lunch, and browsed a local bookstore.

A sign I spotted: I LOVE YOU MORE THAN CHOCOLATE.

And, yes, I had a bit of chocolate.

Interesting and Informative note-

MY FUNNY VALENTINE was from a Rodgers and Hart  Musical called BABES IN ARMS. In the show a character named Billie Smith sings the song to a man named VALENTINE LAMAR.

So- The song so  long identified with Valentine's Day is really addressing a Character in the show. But give credit to the genius of Larry Hart to write a lyric that has Universal Meaning Today.

The Verse -Seldom sung because it needs to be sung by a woman goes as follows

"Behold the way our fine feathered friend
His virtue doth parade
Thou knowest not my dim-witted friend
The picture thou hast made
Thy vacant brow and thy tousled hair
Conceal thy good intent
Thou noble upright truthful sincere
And slightly dopey Gent.

You're my funny Valentine........."

Thanks for the info, Arnold. I shall have to add BABES IN ARMS to my viewing list.

Yes, they're the reason we're here, actually. They were really clucking about this place & we thought we'd see for ourselves. It's unfortunate that they don't post much.

Word really gets around, doesn't it? The chickens don't seem to have much to say. I've always felt that cows were MUCH more intelligent.

You're trying to argue semantics with a farm animal.

Stranger things have happened on HHW.     :P

The only thing better would be portrait of DR RLP, reposing on the cowskin rug...    :)

He wouldn't have to be recognizable, of course. He could even take another name--one from a favorite film.

bK, you should be able to set up around 6 pm on as that is when I go to scout out movie materials (early birds can get in tonight to do that). All the vendors will be setting up this evening.

Now, am I to presume you are not joining me at Bollywood Cafe? You have not returned my phone message that I left you earlier today. I am heading there right now 'cause I is hungry!

DR Cows, do not fret...I shall eat none of you...but perhaps your cousin Goat, instead.

Actually, we were thinking people should eat more lamb. Doesn't this make you hungry? Come on, you know you're salivating right now for a lamb filet or a nice fat rack of chops.

I think that's an ad for vegetarianism.

Thanks for the info, Arnold. I shall have to add BABES IN ARMS to my viewing list.

Warning Jeanne, Babes in Arms, the movie is a different animal from the Broadway musical. Many changes were made including the removal of many of the Rodgers and Hart songs

Babes in Arms the Movie

It's certainly fun to watch but it's not what you might have expected.

Someone may have already submitted this, but it was a big part of my childhood (i led a deprived childhood    :'(--no not depraved, well, atl east until not later in life):

I never saw a purple cow;
I never hope to see one.
But I'd rather see one than to be one.

Actually a purple cow would be kind of neat!

You're taking me to task for arguing with a cow that has access to a computer and can type?

Yes, I was wondering about the typing part. Archy the cockroach jumps on the keys. But that was YEARS ago. Now there's software. Cows, do you use special software, such as speech recognition software?
