That's because she didn't drop the items. She put her purse down & placed the items on the steps while searching for her keys. She was then distracted and left the items on the steps without putting them back into her purse.

Cilla, I give the cat dancer as new kitten gifts. It is a great toy. We had one cat that loved them so much I had about 5 scattered throughout the house at once. He would collect them all into one spot of the house & place with them all at once. It was a riot.

Just finished my read-through with the student horn player on the Hindemith. It went swimmingly, I'm happy to say. He and his mother were somewhat amazed that it went so well, so that makes me happy. The tempo joke was on me, however--somehow I had failed to notice the MM marking jumps to 144 for the final couple of pages, so I got to play things extra-special fast.
