Last night we watch YANKEE DOODLE DANDY.  I tend to forget what a wonderful film it is, and then I delighted all over again.  James Cagney deserved his academy award.

Maybe I will get a Cat Dancer for Mr Merlin the Magic Cat at Ye Olde World of Wisdom.

I've never seen a cat who doesn't like the Cat Dancer. Now, that doesn't mean they don't exist, I just haven't seen one

What if flirt shamelessly with my cashier?

Then he, or she, might be inclined to correct your grammar!   ;D

Sherlock is yelping in pain when he gets up from lying down.  I think it is his back right leg or foot that hurts.  I gave him an aspirin.

Naturally we are very concerned & scared.  He has been doing so well.

So much dish it wasn't even funny - well, it was quite funny, actually.  We dished on many topics.  Then director Glenn Casale stopped by our table and he and Jason chatted.  Then we dished some more - and even Skip Kennon was mentioned!

Every now and then we do give Dixie Bell a baby aspirin; she'll limp a little after laying for a while, but, so far, she hasn't been yelping.

She and I send our best vibes DD Sherlock's way.

Too many bloody connections - I e-mailed our host, then called - I'm rather sick of this, but I've just noticed that they now have an up-time guarantee, so I'm going to clock them from now on and maybe if they have to start paying for their crap they'll monitor things a bit more closely.

Happy President's Day to all of our favorite presidents!

Around our house, we celebrate it as Uncle Milly Day. Millard Fillmore is a great-great-great-great-great-great uncle of DR Sandra on her dad's side of the family.

Interestingly, our very own DR Megan can also celebrate Uncle Milly Day - he is her great-great-great-great-great-great uncle on her mother's side of the family.

Interesting...

THe only claim I can make to a noted person is Martha Graham, the choreographer, a very distant relation. However DBF can claim MIles Standish and Lucille Ball!

Oh, Jane, I certainly hope that the aspirin helps.  It brings tears to my eyes when a dog yelps. . .

Sherlock looks so sad.  He is standing next to me & I'm typing with one hand & petting him with the other.

I have been very logey this whole afternoon.  Done a little work at the piano and proofed a couple of chapters, and am now watching Monte Carlo.

I thought that perhaps the "too many connections" was somehow related to the computer I'm posting from. . . . :(

When I get home from work, after rolling around on the floor with her, Dixie will come sit by the computer and expect the same treatment.

Must be time for me to be doing some X and Z reports, and closing down the lottery machine.

See you all after 9!

My favorite songs are mostly from the Supremes but I also like songs by marvin Gaye.

I've been singing "Life could Not Better Be" since the carton brouhaha began on Friday, so I just watched THE COURT JESTER again.  Loved it.

We are home from the Miami University Men's Glee Club concert at my mom's retirement community.  The multi-purpose room was packed!  The Club was only about 1/3 of its normal size, but they still managed to ring the rafters a couple of times.  DH Richard did go up to sing the Fight Song, Alma Mater, and Parting Blessing with the chorus.  A contemporary of his was there and a couple of the men who live at Otterbein also joined in.
