DR Jennifer - You should try to swallow "it" - that will get it out of throat faster than coughing it up - and you won't irritate your throat with all that coughing.  -Of course, you'll probably end up coughing back it up eventually, but better to let that happen involuntarily. -But, again, I'm not a doctor, so...  -Do your hospitals have any sort of free nurse hotline?  Or just check with a pharmacy.

I listened to the audio commentary on THE LAST EMPEROR. Even with four speakers, it kind of dragged.

I decided instead of watching the 3 1/2 hour version tomorrow, I'll spend tomorrow watching the rest of the bonus features on the two discs, and watch the long version of the movie on Wednesday.

I did find that hot drinks really helped.

I guess it's good to know not to swallow it.

It could be psychological tonight. But yesterday at the store it sure wasn't. I didn't have any hot liquids. And it got pretty bad.

I thought it would be more private in the bathroom. But there were a lot of people there. It was at least nice to know that at least 2 people stopped to ask if i was okay. And one gave me some gum, which actually helped a bit.

Thanks.

Actually you should swallow it. That's what the warm liquid helps you do.  I just blow my nose as much as I can and then drink lots and lots of water

I did get two of the bonus features watched tonight. They were both concerning the 1984 trip to China that Bertolucci took.

One thing I learned is that before he decided to do THE LAST EMPEROR, he was really anxious to direct a screen version of the Dashell Hammett mystery RED HARVEST. I would like to have seen what he would have done with that book.

The deal fell through and he was devastated. He went to China to try to forget, and that's where he got the idea for THE LAST EMPEROR.

Bad ratings so ABC took it off the air. I think it had one or two episodes left to show, but ABC cut its losses.

Luke and Noah were on AS THE WORLD TURNS with a kind of creepy event happening to them. They were not on the previews for tomorrow.

THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES had a good episode tonight allowing us to see the front story of Brian Austin Green's character. Good use of flashforwards.

MEDIUM had a different kind of episode tonight, and I enjoyed it even if I did figure out the plan well before the end of the hour. (I've been on a roll in the last few days guessing the solutions for these mysteries. It can't last!)

Maybe if it's played by Mark Hamill. The Luke on AS THE WORLD TURNS is Luke Snyder.

Interesting celebs announced for DANCING WITH THE STARS.

(not sure if this is considered a spoiler).

Here are a few i can remember: Penn (the magician), monica seles (tennis player), marlee matlin (deaf which should be interesting), marissa jaret winokur (hairspray), kristi yamaguchi (skater), steven guttenberg (actor), some miami dolphin football player, some latin actor who i don't know, priscilla presley, shannon elizabethe actress).

I guess there are 2 more men i can't recall.

I think Marlee will do well. Heather Whitestone, a past Miss America was deaf and she danced. She may surprise us and do quite well. Deaf feel vibrations and can sense things.

Forty more minutes to go.  We've had more vision, though - Julie Taymor/Terry Gilliam (the draft board), Julie Taymor/Roger Corman (The Trip), Julie Taymor/Hair.

Well, I believe I'm going to head back to bed.  Today was one of those days where I woke up tired, and then started to feel a little "not good".  I think all the contact I've been having lately with roomfuls of sick and near-sick actors may be catching up with me.  Well, I hope not.  In any case sleep is good.

Goodnight.

Why me or Lord, why me?

Just returned from a full day at the Grandlads.
Dogs were barking more than usual.
Woody went to fill the water bowls and let out a cry - "My Goodness!"

There, comfortably ensconced on the kitchen window sill was:

A very skinny, very cute kitty.

Woody reached for her, and she jumped right up on his shoulders.

We took her outside, and set her down - but no way was she leaving - much leg rubbing ensued.  I went inside and found a can of 9Lives which I took ouside. Kitty took a few gulps right away. She then got up in my arms and I got the motor-running treatment.

Woody took her down to the basement - where we took the pictures.

Big Trouble - he called her Josie - already the damn cat has a name!

We let Fletcher down to met her; she was stand off-ish and he sniffed a little and lost interest. Buster came down and went bananas - Josie gave a swat at his snout and he backed away.

Bonnie was next, and was much too excited to introduce (another woman in my house - I THINK NOT!)

Josie is now alone in the warmer basement with food and water curled up on an old couch.

Poor thing is thin as a rail, all ribs - just a bag of bones -but neat and clean; certainly not a feral cat.

I don't want to toss her out in the chilly weather, so I guess she spends the night.

Oh, dear! Do I spy a lemon in bk's glass of water? I hope it's one of the 30% that is germ-free!

;D  I needed that laugh.  Watching Sherlock is very scary and upsetting.  He finally lied down, outside on the bark.  Every time he tried up till now he couldn't do it.  He just keeps pacing & looking sad.

It must not be his foot or leg, no limping at all.

Thank you DR's Cilla & Jose.

Jennifer I know how horrible that gagging felt.  Keep up those warm drinks & sleep elevated to keep it from draining more overnight.
