A little?  Nah.

Dear BK: Keep alternate routes in mind tomorrow.  And have a good time.

Dear Reader Laura, I am quite certain that if you took a photograph of what you see from your window; it would be one hundred times more effect that any photo I could hope to take.

That was a beautiful view, and a lovely photo. Out my window I see the fish shower curtain that my neighbor put in the front window to block the view of their clutter.

I followed Alton Brown's recipe, for the most part, for the fish part of the fish and chips.

Not bad, but I'd've preferred a crunchier crust.

And I'd better get myself into snooze mode soon, since I've an early call to work tomorrow.

(And maybe take a nap with JJ in the room when I get back home!  Curling up with the kitty!)

(Why don't cats have any butch generic nicknames?)

Spoilers-ish.  That Doctor Who spinoff thingie.

By the by - interesting Torchwood.  A good study on the quality of memory - not a subject often tackled by television.  Exactly what was created, and how?  And where did Adam come from?  Once again, the questions are more telling than any answers could be.

Watching "Ordinary People" on TCM...

The last two times I watched this, I sobbed uncontrollably for 5 minutes afterward.    :P

A full night of TV for me tonight for sure.

I began by finishing THE ARISTOCATS. It is nice to have a widescreen, anamorphic version though the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound was barely stereo, much less 5.1

Next I watched THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE. It's an OK drama. Good depiction of trying to beat an addiction to heroin, but I didn't care for the Danish director at all who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES extreme close-ups of people's eyes. Got VERY redundant after a time.

The drama was overly conflicted, too, as it's clear the two protagonists are made for each other, and yet the screenwriter throws up barrier after barrier for their happiness, some of which are just ridiculous.

I watched the bonus features, too. Not that there were many of them. 7 deleted scenes and a 20 minute "making of" featurette in which everyone just praises one another to the skies. Nice behavior but not very informative.

I always cry when I watch this movie too.  I first saw it back in high school.  Father Luis Valdivieso showed it as part of our sophomore year Sociology class. I loved it back then, and still do. It's one of those "quiet" movies that packs quite the emotional punch, and the performances of the three leads - Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton are pitch perfect, and the supporting cast ain't bad either.  And not a bad directorial debut for Robert Redford. ;)

Next, I put in CHARLIE CHAN AT TREASURE ISLAND. I had seen this years ago but didn't remember it at all. Seeing it before did no good: I didn't guess the identity of the murderer.

I watched one of the bonus features on the CHAN disc. It was the real Scorpio about the San Francisco Scorpio killer and how it linked to the character Scorpio in this movie. Not much of a relationship, but an OK featurette.

I have only seen a couple of the Oscar films: Atonement and Enchanted. We are still waiting to get Sweeney Todd...

However DBF did see No Country for Old Men

And then TORCHWOOD. Great show tonight due to having a fabulous villain! One of the cleverest scripts they've done.

I finally saw Michael Clayton today. I liked it. It had a long wait on NetFlix so I broke down and got it at Blockbuster.

Did you finish all your yummilicities, Ron?

No.  I have 1 chocolatine (for Sunday brekkies), 4 chocolate-chip pecan cookies and 4 Bisous au Chocolats left.

Thanks to this virus, I'm not as inclined to indulge as I might normally be.
