Once will be shown next month at Fargo Theatre....

I also noted taht Target is now carrying more independent films. I am hoping to get WIND THAT SHAKES BARLEY. The Fargo Target had sold out and I am on a waiting list.

I'm with Michael Shayne.  I'd prefer NO posts about TV shows ("reality" in particular). I thought that is why so many other sites existed! :)

Yes.  I skip MANY posts to avoid the discussions - but then I usually know which Hainsies are likely to talk about the shows.

Each to his own.

 :) :) :) :) :)

All well and good...so, given that many sites exist that specialize in virtually everything "we" discuss here, what, exactly, is this site supposed to be about?

The diversity of folks in this forum are what make it somewhat unique, IMO.  If this forum has a "theme", I've missed it somehow.

I know my interests aren't everyone else's...but vice-versa in some cases and "c'est la vie", IMHO!    :D :D :D

Finished watching the Don Rickles documentary (directed by John Landis) and am thinking about watching Company when it airs at nine.

Although I lack the artistic sense of Dear Reader Laura, here is a photo of today from my balcony.

What a wonderful view.

I am hoping to jump into the netflix que in the near future. the NDSU library has been adding a number of good movies so I have been watching them also.

I am also saving money to purchase Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and also Becoming Jane.  Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors  I also like a certain Mr. Kimmel!

I can tell you now that I will never do any writing about TV shows in those eye-straining colors. Others may do so if they wish. I won't be doing that.

Netflix turns out to be a good deal if you watch movies very often, much better than the local store, but not as good as the library

You do have a point Cilla. I refuse to do business with the local blockbuster due to sexist attitudes and remarks when you go in. NDSU has aded movies taht are award winning or used in film study classes. MSUM also had a lot ......

Ted Larson, a late professor at MSUM was a big leader in developing film studies programs up here. I took his class as an elective back in the 1980s. He was a passionate person.  MSUM also has a veyr large film collection.

Most horrific moments in film include that moment in ORDINARY PEOPLE where that yummilicious-looking breakfast gets trashed.

TCB - Wikipedia has the following on the Krakatoa West of Java controversy:

"Krakatoa is, in fact, west of Java (Mount Tambora, on Sumbawa, is the violent volcano east of Java). The film was retitled Volcano in later releases. While the film was in production, its makers became aware of the geographic error in its title but used it anyway, apparently believing that this was a more exotic title than "Krakatoa, West of Java"."

I think I'll have a pina colada in honor of Rupert Holmes along with french toast in honor of Mary Tyler Moore.

Or maybe I'll just have a muffin with pineapple juice.
