Thanks, DR PennyO!   :)

Ah, if I only had a dime for every time I've heard a parody lyric for When I Am Laid...   I could retire now!

Perhaps you could use one of them for your performances?  ;)

And probably will!!! No, it is a very sad moment in the play, and I'll likely have to do it (you should pardon the expression...) straight.

So... Since things tend to go in cycles...

Shall we start a pool on when and what kind of animal will find DRs DerBrucer and SWW next?  Another cat? dog? guinea pig? ;)

Yeah, I miss you too, ol' buddy. Yes, anything with the words handle and blow seems to be of interest to this ol' broad these daze...

Ah... That brings back memories of singing an early setting of "Cherry Ripe" in Song Literature class in college.  ;)

Cherry ripe, cherry ripe,
Ripe I cry,
Full and fair ones
Come and buy.
Cherry ripe, cherry ripe,
Ripe I cry,
Full and fair ones
Come and buy.

And then a setting of Thomas Campion's poem of the same name...

There is a garden in her face
Where roses and white lilies blow;
A heavenly paradise is that place,
Wherein all pleasant fruits do flow:
There cherries grow which none may buy
Till ‘Cherry-ripe’ themselves do cry.

Those cherries fairly do enclose
Of orient pearl a double row,
Which when her lovely laughter shows,
They look like rose-buds fill’d with snow;
Yet them nor peer nor prince can buy
Till ‘Cherry-ripe’ themselves do cry.

Her eyes like angels watch them still;
Her brows like bended bows do stand,
Threat’ning with piercing frowns to kill
All that attempt with eye or hand
Those sacred cherries to come nigh,
Till ‘Cherry-ripe’ themselves do cry.

-Interpret as you wish.  God know, my Song Lit teacher did.  I believe I even blushed.  ;)

Well, on to work - got a story to do about Michael York and the Long Beach Opera - they're doing Tennyson's ENOCH ARDEN and a strange piece about Frankenstein, with puppets, yet, week after next. I get to interview both Mr. York, AND the puppet people! Whatta life!!

"Cherry Ripe" is used as the secondary theme in Eric Coates' Covent Garden section of his "London" Suite. I love the song!

Well, the 43 cartons had a total weight of just under 1400 lbs.  I had guessed 1200 initially.

DR elmore - Go FedEx!  That really was fast - especially for FedEx Freight!  *I wonder if your complaints about the workers caused your shipment to be expedited in a more timely manner?

Maybe they're having a slow month!

For me it's picking up. The work inquiries keep coming in: the other day, Harvey Schmidt; last night, Patrick Cassidy and Jason Graae; today, the Lyric Stage, Irving, Texas, and Ron Raines.  Also, Planet X, and the usual suspects, LOS and BABES!  Of course, a couple of the inquiries haven't turned into real jobs.  WEHT Karen Mason?

WEL - good questions all, and I'm glad you enjoyed the book!

Wicked thirteen times?  Student rush and lottery.  Frugal moms.  The end visit with good seats to Wicked - special treat that Adriana's mom paid for.  And fast food visits - it's not as many as you think.

And since everyone has probably figured out, yes, Adriana Hofstetter is back in the new book.

DR singdaw and George and others still dealing with nasal issues - I remember when I was working on Eleanor down at Ford's Theatre, practically the whole company - except for me! - came down with some sort of pesky "cold".  And it just would not go away.  Thankfully, it never really impeded anyone's performance or performances, but it really was annoying.  The company manager at Ford's went ahead and made arrangements to have everyone checked out by the same doctor just to see if everyone had the same thing.  Well, some people did have the "common cold", others, it turned out, were having allergy issues.  However, a majority of people had what the doctored labeled as "IPND": Insidious Post-Nasal Drip.  -And I don't think I've ever seen a medical condition labeled "insidious" before or since then.  In any case...  A daily Vitamin-C booster, and a low-dose of Mucinex seemed to help keep things in check and clear it up eventually.

Thanks, DR JoseSPiano.  Yep, doing the Mucinex thing, and - thanks to your post of several days ago - also the gargling with salt water thing, which does seem to help.

Well, my auditions don't start until 3:00 this afternoon, but they have the studio "on hold" all day, so I'm going to head in a bit early to take advantage of the "free" practice room.

Laters...

JJ'S LAST ADVENTURE:

JJ says Goodby:

Bye my good friends at HHW!

Who the hell are you?

der Brucer

I have to differ.  This is so not JJ's last adventure.  It's the conclusion of one chapter, and the beginning of another.

And he didn't even have to lose one of his lives for this to happen!

I'm feeling sad and good as I write this.  Good/sad, the way I did when we found homes for Zeus, Peggy, Baxter, Benny and Angie.

PS: The second pic is my fave.  And I like the way der Brucer cropped it, so that his thinning spot on top doesn't show.

Did I just say that???!!!   :-*
