Oh, and JRAND, I'm glad you're here. Yesterday the sweet Singdaw was ready to slash someone's tires and today he went into a mini-rant. Are you SURE there's nothing going on in the heavens??

(BTW, der B, where do I get one of those thingies for my key chain?)

This may be a result of "my" undue influence upon him.....  :-\

JRand, what a fascinating story!!!

DR JRand, I'm not sure I mentioned that.  I shared the story with Keith, my in house genealogist.

I, too, am about to shed a tear over DC JJ's departure. I do hope he finds a wonderful home.

As do we; just hope is previous owners don't come looking for him - the cat people insisted I take down all the "Found" posters, bcasue JJ will no longer be retrievable  - once he enters their system they loose track of individual cats.

Well, now we have our very own emergency cat rescue kit: a supply of canned food, litter box, litter-supply, litter scoop, litter mat, cat-toys, cat safety collar.

I had one similar to this that fit on a key ring:

Try an auto-supply store (or ask a friendly female with a tool belt)

If they loose track of individual cats, how will you know he has found a home.

Before they loose track of him, do they do an internet search for a lost ad?

If it will suffice, I'm happy to contribute this tiara from my own personal collection:

I bet it goes nicely with the Nicole Kidman Oscar necklace DH bought you.

So... Since things tend to go in cycles...

Shall we start a pool on when and what kind of animal will find DRs DerBrucer and SWW next?  Another cat? dog? guinea pig? ;)

No, we will not foster the python that just ate the family dog.

(See, Jose, there are some stories, with pictures, I don't post :))

If yuo have a chance, my second article - this one about the Handel RADAMISTO played by Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra on authentic period instruments with countertenors this weekend - is up on www.FineArtsLA.com -- And I get free tickets to hear it. Nice gig!!!

Just yesterday, I got another awesome gig - I'm Music Director for a production of Complete Stage Beauty (the play from which the move Stage Beauty, with Billy Crudup was made), opening mid-April and playing through late May in West LA - nice little old theater, on Pico Blvd just west of La Brea - near enough BK's and my old neighborhood to have me waxing nostalgic, if not my car.

So, I'm putting together a small ensemble - probably just harpsichord, cello, two fiddles, with me on recorders - to play some Purcell and Blow. I even get to sing Dido's Lament!!! at the end of Act 1. Hoping to also play Mistress of Revels - but that may not happen.

Congrats, PennyO!! :D

...the Long Beach Opera...

We only attended one performance there. It was the world premiere of "HOPPER" - and the lead mezzo plays the majority of the second act wearing less than the chorus girls in The First Nudie Musical.

Do they have a female equivalent of "Just For Men" to rid milady's pudenda of grey?

Funny.  I hate Amanda more than anyone in the house.  Her incessant need for attention is pathetic.  She is as bad, IMO, as Sheila who has to stage an irrational drama every week, trash-talking anyone who comes to mind -- and for no reason other than that she, herself, is trash, but fancies herself "street smart/tough."

re:bb

Are you going based on what you see on tv or on the feeds?

Amanda is needy. But to me she is a good person.  Most of the others are vile.

I don't get the hate for Jason Yeager on IDOL. Yes, I guess he's too white bread for the judges (but they DID pick him after all), but there's a purity and lilt in his voice that I rather like. His song last night was not worthy of the scathing pans it received, especially since the Johns guy who opened the show was very off pitch on many of the higher notes and didn't get put in his place for a really poor performance.

He is actually one of the ones i dislike the most.

To me the only really good ones are michael johns (the australian) and David A (the kid).

Although last night i did not think Michael johns was that good.

i did like david A's "imagine". And i agree with DR Derbrucer, i liked luke's Queen.

But i really dislike David Hernandez (who the judges thought was great last night).

If you get a chance, make a contact with ICT - I'm pretty sure that we left under fairly good auspices.

And if she looks, she'll see our Golden Circle (or whatever they call it) plaque on the wall - the only professed gay couple on the list!

I'm at my sister's now. She is sick. My brother-in-law is sick. So i suspect i'll probably get IT too.

But right now i'm just here playing with my niece. Well actually my mom is over here too playing with her now while i'm typing this.

I'm hesitant to go in her room. Since they are laughing so hard and having so much fun together.

I've been taking extra vitamin A, along with extra vitamin C, for the thing that's been hanging around me--and it has helped.

About "that thing hanging around" you - two simple choices:

ThingBeGone - garlic
ThingBeMine - "Compulsion"

DR Jennifer:  I'm watching only TV.  I'm truly less interested in Big Brother 9 than any season, thus far.  As soon as I got a look at the contestants and how they were paired up, I knew immediately I'd hate them all.

If they loose track of individual cats, how will you know he has found a home.

Before they loose track of him, do they do an internet search for a lost ad?

A. We will not know, directly, that he has found a home. Inferentially, if they don't return him, he has been adopted (or tested positive for Leukemia and/or AIDS in which case he will be put down).

B. They make no attempt to find owners - they just place cats.

PS: The second pic is my fave.  And I like the way der Brucer cropped it, so that his thinning spot on top doesn't show.

Did I just say that???!!!   :-*

Thinning spot - I think not!

It's just the angle of the light striking my head!

I'm caught up - for the day anyway.  Nothing much to say, nothing for the TOD.  Saw the latest Cirque du Sollei installment "Kooza" the other day, and it was fantastic.  Seussical was fun, glad it's over.  Little Shop of Horrors is going well.  Also have a gig playing keyboard for a high school production of Once On This Island which is going to be fun.  I'm such the A/F whore.
