Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

The Dick and Jane photo reminded me of something. Unlike my next door neighbors, who learned to read with Dick and Jane , our 'reader' featured John and Jean and Baby Judy; The only thing I could think of at the time was that in Catholic school, we couldn"t use nicknames(But how did baby Judy, not baby Sally, slip in there?).Did anyone learn to read with John and Jean?(I also practiced on Classics illustrated Comics, which helped keep me ahead of the curve, tho i don't think we had curves back then, except in baseball).

For years I've wanted to hear OLC of "Ambassador," so I got it from him--it's obviously never going to get an authorized release, so I justify it that way.

Are you preparing a syllabus for "Situational Ethics For Teenagers" to share with other parents? (Or is that part of Rationalization 101) ;)

"Indicating" usually means that the actor is "projecting" their subtext.  Basically, instead "her lips said, "No," but her eyes said "Yes.", it would be a case of "her lips said, "No," but her eyes said "Yes,", but from the way she said "No" I could already tell she was really saying "Yes".  It also applies to when an actor through his/her acting starts hinting at an upcoming event in the plot, instead of living in that "present" moment.  In other words, the actor has already posted a "Spoiler Alert" on his forehead.  ;)

Correct-o!  I still prefer to call it telegraphing when I am directing a show.  Just about every actor who has ever worked for me has gotten that note, at least, once.  It is an easy trap to fall in to for even the most professional actors.

Well, it's supposed to get into the low 70s today here in NYC, and since my friend, Carl, from Toronto is in today, it sounds like it will be a good day to walk and shop around the Big Apple.

Laters...

Carl from Toronto?  Wasn't that the male massage therapist that advertises on Craig's List?

DR Jose:  I saw the photo you posted yesterday evening of Clay Aiken.  All I can say is that he seems to be morphing into Tea Leoni.

Nothing wrong with that.  You get to have sex with David Duchovny!

I did my Victor Herbert work and then I watched THE TUDORS.  My my my, things are heating up.

Speaking of tv, I meant to comment about TOP CHEF's episode last night that I want to know what moron does their music; I love its pretentiousness: gongs, keening, ominous bizarre sounds.  So bad, so godawful. It's a game show, not a horror film.

Good afternoon!

Well, I was supposed to get a call from my friend, Carl, around Noon to tell me where he wanted to meet up today, but I have yet to hear from him, so...  *However, it was nice being here when the mail came in a few minutes ago. :)

Speaking of the male mail man.  Since I took yesterday off of work, I finally got to meet the postal employee who has had this route for the last year or so.  WOW! A very male mail man.

Damn Yankees in New York this Summer

While I don't deny that Sean Hayes has talent (I think he was quite funny in the early seasons of Will and Grace before he and the others devolved into caricature and bad writing) and I will give him the benefit of the doubt but I have to say that the idea of him playing Applegate in this summer's revival of Damn Yankees (even with the wonderful Jane Krakowski as Lola) makes me more than a bit scared.

I think Sean Hayes has enough talent to pull off the role.   I think he would be a big improvement over Jerry Lewis.  However, I still think they should have hired me.

Yes, you seem to have a coterie of ardent admirers here.  I expect that if you leave a used napkin, or a partially eaten pork chop, when dining out that one of them will snatch it up and have it mounted or something.

 ;)

That is very weird!

I dunno about that. There hasn't been any mounting in connection with my life for at least a dozen years.

Yes, I'm certain a Bretty watermelon seed, spat upon the ground, would be scooped up, plated in gold or bronze, and displayed with fervent excitement by a few here.

 :D

And then there was a second one.  DR RLP, are you trying to tell us something?

Good Evening!

I'm just back at the apartment for a bit.  I had a nice afternoon with my friend, Carl.  However, the shopping excursions were a bit frustrating and puzzling.  Certain CDs were not in stock at Virgin, not at J&R(!).  And since most of the stores have just put out their summer clothing lines, trying to find a lightweight jacket was basically impossible too.  -And I guess the "trashbag" look is in this summer for casual outerwear.  ???

Nope, none will be available for individual purchase.

Only that Bretty should not be surprised when he sees that someone has read something he has written.

It's quite apparent that HHWers have very much enjoyed his being here...and that a few seem 'smitten.'

I don't see any harm in commenting upon that given the posts that led me to that conclusion.

At present.  Ultimately, many titles in sets become individually available.  Not all, but some.
