In the Puget Sound area?

Hmm... Doesn't have quite the same ring or impact... Hmm... Maybe just..

In the Puget Sound?

-Are you even near Puget Sound, DR George?

Olympia (which is next to Tumwater where I live and work) is right at the very south end of Puget Sound. :) But for as long as I've lived in the area (almost 32 years and counting), it still surprises me when I smell salt air when I'm in downtown Olympia, even though it's right on the water:

That doesn't remotely scan Novello's "Keep the home fires Burning."

Tumwater sounds like the name A.A. Milne would have given for Winnie the Pooh's favorite watering hole/spa!

Every post office needs one window designated "Know nothing? Complete Moron? This window only" and then those of us who arrive prepared and knowing exactly what we need won't have to wait in line forever.

This suggestion is, I fear, fatally flawed:

A. It assumes that the Know-Nothing Morons (KNM) can read.
B. It assumes that the KNM will read the sign.
C. It assumes that the KNM will follow instructions.

Unlikey.

Wouldn't you like to see an "FMO Line ONLY" sign above a window, though...and watch folks jockey for position?  (FMO=for morons only).

..told me laughingly that I'd never eat even half of the platter..

Reminds me of my Godfather's attempts to stop my endless "pesting" to join my Pop in Raw Oyster appetizers:

"I’ll buy you a plate - but you have to eat every one!"

Well, that taught me a lesson.

I consumed a second plate!

A family that delights in raw oysters and fried scrapple (not toether) can enjoy most any menu.

We had a funny "Mensa moment" this morning.  Gabe had been looking at his Mensa Book of Puzzles whilst eating his breakfast, and then set the book down on the counter by the stove.  About 30 seconds later he asked "Where's my Mensa book?"  I told him he probably wasn't quite ready for that august organization if he couldn't recall where he had set his own book down less than a minute previously.   ;D

Keep the home-fires burning,
While your hearts are yearning,
Though your lads are far away
They dream of home;
There's a silver lining
Through the dark cloud shining,
Turn the dark cloud inside out,
Till the boys come home.

Originally, but not for a loooong time, actually.  Not since they were bought first by Pabst (I think) then Miller.  Miller used (uses?) the name and slogan, but not the actual water at all. :P
