I'd vote for Sweet River, elmore.  And one of the Ballroom songs.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I think it's going to take a few hours for my back to recover from my brother's couch.  It was actually comfortable to sleep on, but maybe a bit too comfortable.  I think I'm going to head out for a walk, possibly jog, in a few just to help get things warmed up and stretched out again.

Good morning!

We had a torrential rain storm last night, and more rain is predicted for today and tomorrow though it looks OK outside right now. Highs in the mid-70s today.

I had the longest night's sleep I've had in months playing catch up (ketsup?) from my all-nighter. Hopefully, this will get my sleep cycle back on track and I won't suffer any ill effects this week.

DR JRand,

I answer to your question of last night about the Bette Davis box.

Actually, two Bette Davis box sets came out this month: one from Warners and one from Fox.

The Warner box contains THE OLD MAID, ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO, IN THIS OUR LIFE, THE GREAT LIE, and DECEPTION (which answers your question).

The box I opened last night was the Fox box which offers new remasters and a second disc of bonus features for both ALL ABOUT EVE and HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE along with PHONE CALL FROM A STRANGER, THE VIRGIN QUEEN, and THE NANNY.

Lots on tv tonight. The finale of BIG BROTHER.

DEXTER. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.  BROTHERS & SISTERS.

PSYCH.

And here MEDIUM is on again tonight (nbc tomorrow for US).

Since Jennifer has already done the TV reminder chores, I'll merely add

COLD CASE on CBS

THE TUDORS on Showtime.

Today I plan to watch another PSYCH episode from my first season box set while I cook and eat lunch.

Then reviewing chores begin anew with THE BIG GAY SKETCH SHOW, Season 2.

Two new Criterion DVDs of Louis Malle films came in yesterday, so I'll be working on those this week, too. They don't come out until May 13.

And the word of the day is: RAKEHELL!
RAKEHELL Welch was an acting coach in the early days of Hollywood.  His students included Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Tyrone Power and Alan Swann - all of whom attributed their abilities with the ladies to his teachings.

To work I must go.

But first, an announcement:

I will be working during much of tomorrow, and will be unable to "scorekeep" our names game.  Sorry.

Hasta la.

And The Song Of The Day Is:  HELLO, LITTLE GIRL

Which is also the title of tonight's episode of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

[For those who don't know, creator-producer Marc Cherry is a great show music fan, and every episode's title is the name of a song from some musical.]

Heading down now to get laundry sorted for today's washing chore and then I'll start looking around for something to fix for lunch.

Good morning, all! I shall be E&T most of the day.  DR FJL and I are taking the bus to Hartford for a performance of L'Homme de musique and I am very much looking forward to the trek. Footage at 11.

I'd go for dinner with Allison Hayes over Bernadette and Barbra any day.

Okay, then you just serve the dinner, and then you may go!

Marc Acito will be at the 82nd Street Barnes & Noble, my alma mater, on May 12.  I'm hoping I can get over to have him sign my books, but I've got a band rehearsal that evening for the Ellington charts. Oy!

Can you get someone else to take the books to him?  Maybe he will meet early with you and sign the books.

I am in a lot of pain, but that is pretty much par for the course, anymore.  Thanks for asking.  How are you and the men of the house?
