Nor was it taken as one--simply as a funny surprise.

And you can retro all you like, Ron, as far as I'm concerned.  Did you wear your leisure suit today?

I never get that retro!  (Once was enough!)

TV Reminders:

MOONLIGHT!

GHOST WHISPERER!

NUMB3RS!

Of those, I only watch "Ghost Whisperer," but I'll be recording it (along with "The Sarah Jane Adventures" and "Battlestar Galactica" because I will be in the presence of Lily Tomlin!! :D

Listening to Neal Hefti's score to Oh, Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You In The Closet And I'm Feeling So Sad.  I don't think I've ever seen the film version all the way through or if I have I've blocked it from my memory.  But now I have a hankerin' to see it and see how much they changed the play or if it's somehow aged well.

I wonder if any original cast members of The Brain will be trekking out to see how their parts are being reinvented?

bk, are the vocal harmonies that were added for NYC [and that DR elmore3003 is codifying] retained in the current Brain production?

Yep, the vocal harmonies are indeed being used - they're by Larry Goldberg.

Listening to my reissue of Subways Are For Sleeping.  What a great score and what a great-sounding album, most of which is due to the superb producing of Goddard Lieberson.  If anyone hasn't gotten this, I have copies I can sell.

Loved, loved, loved "Lost".

Loved the flash forward.  Loved the Hurley scene with Jack.

AARRGGHH!!  I didn't get to watch it last night. :( Hopefully, soon. :-\

I think you blocked it from your memory.  I have. And I love Barbara Harris!

Good news! He was accepted into UCLA for next fall, just got the letter a few days ago -- their theatre department to finish up his BA. So he's been busy with school related stuff (20 hours of some general ed classes and a stage craft course there at LACC that he can transfer over) and filling out some scholarship applications (the UCLA Alumni Assoc. invited him to apply for one of their merit scholarships, and he just got notice that he is getting one from the Worth Foundation), etc. etc.  So my Boo-Key Bear is going to be a Boo-Key Bruin.  Once the dust settles, I'm sure we'll hear from the little stranger more often...

Congrats to Boo-Kee...aka DR Cason!! ;D

I am sitting here like so much fish.  I have no Lost spoilage as I've never seen one episode of the show.

Your loss.

I began my afternoon with last night's SUPERNATURAL. Eerie, scary show with a couple of nice "boo!" moments.

Then, I watched THE FIRE WITHIN. Clearly not meant to be "entertainment" in the relax and enjoy sense. Still, what a heartbreaking story!

Criterion's transfer is about as perfect a black and white transfer as I've ever seen. Superb grayscale, film grain that's completely natural, and not one scratch.

I got all of the extras watched on the disc except one.

There are vintage interviews with Louis Malle and lead actor Maurice Ronet. There is a lengthy piece with the first assistant directors and actress Alexandra Stewart (who later married Malle) talking about the making of the film.

Tonight I'll finish that last documentary - it's half an hour long - and then watch more of the shows on the DVR leading up to GHOST WHISPERER.
