I'll probably watch last night's CSI: MIAMI while I cook and eat lunch. Then I'll be back to JAG to get through disc 4 and hopefully watch some of disc five today, too.

I can't really remember a horrible dining experience at a restaurant in terms of the food. I've been lucky. I've been to places where the service was terrible or non-existent, but not really any food I found inedible.

Now, I fixed spaghetti sauce once with some mushrooms which were obviously tainted, and I got a horrible case of food poisoning that knocked me off my feet for three or four days where just the thought of solid food made me ill.

I got a couple more review copies of things yesterday: a nice DVD of award winning cartoon shorts from around the world as well as an MTV tribute to EVAL KNENIEVAL hosted by some of the guys on JACKASS (not a DVD I'm looking forward to).

DR Matt H, I found Katherine's death on THE TUDORS extremely moving and heartbreaking. As for Jane Seymou's being a "babe." very little on the tv can be trusted. Charles Brandon looked nothing like Richard Todd or Henry Cavill, more's the pity, but Holbein's portrait of Jane Seymour is rather plain, but portraits of that time are hard to judge: Henry was angry at Holbein for painting Anne of Cleves prettier than she was but she's a dog in the painting.

also, standards of beauty change. Bessie Wynn was considered a beauty in BABES IN TOyLAND and I find her rather unattractive in every photo I've seen.

Spoiler?????
Even though I was in bed by 9:45 pm or so, I still watched MEDIUM. I kept wondering why Joe didn't have a lawyer look over things before signing anything with that crazy bitch. I liked the surprises that followed. I was sorry there was such a quiet exit for one person and how kind it was.

As for the Holbein portrait of Jane Seymour, she was 29, which is getting up in years for the 16th Century, when she became Queen.

DR MBarnum, I disagree with you re: survivor.

I think this was one of the best seasons. I loved it. I found myself completely interested and i thought it was great.

I also disagree with you about ozzy being a bad sport. First off he said he and parv were okay now (during the reunion show).

2nd he professed his love for amanda which i thought was cute!

But third, and i mentioned this yesterday, he and parv were on cook islands together. They developed a close friendship after the show. And i believe they even dated.

If you went on a show with your brother or a close friend, would you expect them to throw you under a bus? I personally would be extremely upset if a friend or family member did this. So i think it makes more sense why he felt betrayed. IT wasn't some random player, it was his good friend.

I am really curious to see who will get voted off DANCING WITH THE STARS tonight.

I really hope it's cristian and cheryl. But i fear it could be marissa and tony.  Kristi is my favorite. But marissa is my 2nd favorite and i really want her to make it to the finals next week.

For some reason i have just never warmed up to cristian at all.

Thanks, DR Elmore. I just remember on THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII, I thought it was cast brilliantly in regards to the women, and Anne Stallybrass who played Jane was sweet and petite but no knockout in the looks department like the Jane I saw last night on THE TUDORS.

Actually, I have discussed this very thing with a couple of my best friends, and they both agreed that they would throw me under the bus at the first available moment in the game.

I can't really remember a horrible dining experience at a restaurant in terms of the food. I've been lucky. I've been to places where the service was terrible or non-existent, but not really any food I found inedible.

I have dined out with friends in various restaurants that were fantastic, very good and so-so.

But regardless of the food, there are a few times when the service was intrusive.  When folks are just starting to eat, I think it a bit strange for the service person to inquire how everything is when I haven't halfway chewed my first forkful of food.

When a conversation is underway, is it really "good" service for the service person to constantly interrupt whoever is speaking to ask if one wishes more water or more wine?  I appreciate a quiet refill on water.  And a quiet, inquiring look as one holds a bottle of wine near one's glass is all that is required to get one's point across.  The diner can either nod or hold his hand over the top of his glass.  The speaker will not miss a beat and the "service" will have been perfection.

I've had a meal where the service person, apparently bored out of her mind, asked my party six times if everything was all right.  It only took us 15 minutes to eat, so she asked, roughly, every two minutes.

Those are what I consider dining experiences from hell.

Well, as I said, the actors are much more photogenic than the actual people they portray. I suppose if the series were cast with actors who looked more lke the 16th Century portraits, there'd be a lot less concern with the sex and nudity for selling the series.
