Last night, I did a very nice venison roast for our dinner, and it came out perfectly.  I accompanied the venison with beets and lemon-glazed sweet potatoes.

This morning, on my way to work, I passed a the carcass of a deer that someone had struck with a car.

Good thing I made the roast last night.  I don't think I would have wanted it after this morning.

I didn't mention it yesterday when I began talking about new shows renewed or canceled, but for the record, NEW AMSTERDAM was also canceled by Fox (There was no question that CANTERBURY'S LAW was canceled, but NEW AMSTERDAM was on the bubble).

I'm trying to think if there are any shows that i watch that i am waiting to find out about (being renewed or not).

I'm assuming all of the reality shows will be back.

And shows like Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Brothers & Sisters.

Ghost Whisperer and Medium.

The one i would have loved to see which i am assuming is cancelled is Journeyman.

I'm feeling sort of out of it today. I had a dream last night about someone close to me. And i woke up feeling very sad.  And i guess after just watching MEDIUM, and seeing her dreams all be real, it has just made me feel out of it.

Btw, that would be cool if DR Jose went to IDOL.

DR MBarnum re: your friends saying they'd turn on you in Survivor.

I guess if you all decided that you would do that before it would be alright.

But the game is brutally hard. You sit in rain for hours. You don't sleep. You don't eat.

I really just can't imagine turning on a close friend.

I'm starting to be persuaded that DR MBarnum only likes movies that have bizarre blurbs on their posters.   ;)

I don't know what you mean DR Singdaw

The first batch of books is now sold (to a nearby store, for credit).  If anyone wants to see the new list, let me know.

DR MattH - thanks for the TV updates.  Richard and I had enjoyed both New Amsterdam and Women's Murder Club and, apparently they succumbed to what we call the "kiss of death."  Whenever we decide we like a product, it goes off the market.

This is like my local supermarket.  I find a product I like a lot and find that others apparently like it, too, because it always disappears off the shelf long before the "house brand" does.  And suddenly it's dropped.

The explanation is always the same:  It didn't sell as well as other brands.  I always tell the manager that it would have sold as well if they'd ever stocked it as well...in the same quantities...because it was always selling out and the house brands never seem to have a dent in them.  The managers, to a person, always glaze over and thank me for shopping Safeway.

Another day is done.

It has warmed up considerably today (and I slept beneath blankets last night).

Tomorrow is expected to be a scorcher!

Tony nominations at 8:30am (approximately)

American Theatre Wing

I worked late today, to make up for being home yesterday, so I am just now catching up.  So, you may have already addressed this, but how can Howard Ashman, who has been dead for over 15 years, be nominated for his Lyrics in the Category of Best Original Score Written for the Theatre?

Actually, I have discussed this very thing with a couple of my best friends, and they both agreed that they would throw me under the bus at the first available moment in the game.

Good Afternoon!  Good Evening! Wherever You Are!

Well.. No "Idol" for me tonight.  No biggie.  My friend kept sending me text after text.. Yes.. No.. Maybe... Yes... Yes, but you will have to stand in the back... No... Definitey No... Yes... Maybe, but you may have to get here and then wait until right before the taping starts......  In any case... I am not at the taping right now.

Instead, I went ahead and got some new headshots taken.  My friend, Chris, who I am staying with is also a photographer, and since I needed new shots, and since he offered, well...  -Just looking at the initial batch, it looks like we got some good ones.  And I was amazed that I did not get so self-conscious like I usually do when I'm having my picture taken.  ;) -I shall post some of the "finalists" once they're ready.

In a little bit, we'll be heading over to a friend's house for some dinner and some TV - most likely "Idol".  It will be the perfect way to spend my last night in L.A. this trip: among friends. :)

Not to mention the Tower behind the Pony Awards:

Coleslaw, do you keep your Jpegs filed under different categories, or is it under key words for easy reference?

As for the Topic of the Day...

I know that I've had some bad meals and/or bad service when I've been out, but I think I've blocked most of those experiences.  -And, consequently, added those places to my "Do Not Return To" list.

There are still some traditional Filipino foods which make me queasy just thinking about them - mainly balut and dinaguan.  Balut is basically a fertilized duck egg that has been boiled and/or preserved.  The main ingredient in dinaguan is pig's blood.  No way, Jose! So...

DR DerBrucer - Please spare all of us the pictures. I'm sure if anyone is that curious, they can Google for themselves. :)

I would love to, but just don't think I will have the dough for another trip this year after my trip in June to Memphis.  :-[

How long will you be in Memphis?

Because the show has the lyrics for the songs he wrote for the Disney film.
I'm going to watch next sunday's episode of THE TUDORS and go to bed. Good night!
