DR George, thanks for the package. Your note made me laugh.

I'm glad you like it! ;D

George - I'm glad you haven't bought them yet.  I have an allotment at half-price.  Just let me know that you want them for Sat. night and I'll put your names down out of my allotment.

Two tickets for Saturday night, please!!  TCB and I will be there!

Wait a minute!  You mean I didn't have to join the Village Theatre's "Village Originals" (for two) to see your show??

 :-\

At least, there are other perks that come with the membership...I guess.

The only hummingbird I saw that has a red head and would be in Oregon is the Anna's hummingbird.

But I'm terrible with hummingbirds. They are too small and too fast!

The rufous hummingbird is brown, but that would be in the area.

THE BIRDS is SO masterfully done. I'm not the world's biggest horror fan either, but it's directed with such ingenuity and the effects are done so brilliantly and in so many different ways, that I just wouldn't think anyone would stay away from it just because it's a horror movie.

Not every film Alfred Hitchcock made was a masterpiece, but every single one of them should be seen at least once by discerning viewers.

suggest that you don't pay anything extra for admission for two to the show?

I went ahead and got started on JAG to get finished with it as soon as I could. Some very interesting episodes in those final three. The first was a clip show revolving around the seesaw relationship between Harm and Mac for the past few seasons. For those who might not be aware of their growing feelings for one antoher, the show would have been valuable, but for a regular viewer, I suspect that show kind of made people mad, well, except for the kiss at the end.

The second one was called "Mutiny" and it recounted a near-mutiny aboard an actual ship 1842 with all of the JAG actors playing the roles of the real-life people. Some of them looked and sounded WAY too modern to be believable as 19th century seamen (despite all the crepe hair and makeup), but it was an interesting case which I had never heard about before.

And the season finale was a (yawn) cliffhanger with Harm adrift at sea while trying to get back to Mac's wedding. Wonder if he was rescued?  ;D

(The show ran four more years.)

I then watched the season finale of SVU.

Boy, are they cleaning hour on SVU or what? Diane Neal and Adam Beach both leaving and Ice-T putting in for a transfer (though I've read nothing about his leaving the show; too bad his request will likely be denied.)

I've got THE THIEF OF BAGDAD cued up in the player and ready to go when I go back down. I should be able to watch it and at least see it again with one of the commentaries (there are two different one on disc one).

Back from errands and will shortly be on my way to meet with Miss Barbara Deutsch, after which I'll have to eat something, since I won't have any time to do so until way after tonight's meeting.

Just found an extra copy of Neil Simon's play, I Ought To Be In Pictures - first edition, a fine copy in fine dustjacket.  Cheapest copy on the Internet in that condition is fifty bucks (most expensive 150).  If anyone wants it for fifteen bucks plus shipping, send me an e-mail pronto.

Yes, that's true, but if you could get tickets for just the show at half price (normally $12) versus the price of the "Village Originals" membership for two...well, I didn't read it correctly and thought that the tickets were only available to "Village Originals" members.  But like I said, there are other perks.  And I probably will see this year's "Festival of New Musicals" in August.  That was pretty cool, last time. :D

You can buy See's at the airport :D

Hmm... I think that's only at LAX not LGB.  I'm sitting right in the middle of the terminal - which is basically in the middle of the whole airport - and there's no See's in sight.  :-\

However, I do have some of those See's Dark Chocolate Mint Crisps in my carry-on - the were giving them out by the handful at the Los Angeles Visitor's Bureau Desk when I went down there the other day. :)

*Although, I did notice when I flew into Dulles Airport, that they had set up a almost-complete See's kiosk in the new terminal. :)

I did buy the membership for two...which is fine.  I'll just have a LOT of driving to do this summer. ;)

Lucky BK can work at his piano!

I cannnot.   :-X
The piano tuner was here yesterday.  He really likes my piano, but, unfortunately, he won't be returning to it for THREE WEEKS!
The pitch was off by a quarter step.  :'(
The hammers were (when dampered) striking more than one note.   :'(
There were remnants of mice inside the base - fortunately, though, we haven't had a mouse problem since our steel door was installed late last summer - so, it was very old evidence of mice.    :o
He thoroughly cleaned the insides of the piano with compressed air, tore it apart, took most of the guts home with him to continue working on them.
What was supposed to have been a two house call visit - pitch adjustment and tuning - over a period of three days has blossomed into a three week, maybe more, extravaganza.
With that extravaganza, of course, the cost rose.  Really rose.
Of course, since this is what I had planned for my Economic Stimulus Payment, it's alright with me.
I would rather have had the piano back to normal tomorrow and the extra dollars from the ECP, but. . .this will pay itself off in the  long run.
On a very positive note, though, Mr. Tuner said that the worth of this particular Baldwin piano is well into three thousand dollars (which is FAR LESS than his tuning fee).   ;D

Well, I think we'll be boarding momentarily, but it still looks like they are still turning over the plane from it's recent arrival.  *And if no one checks in late, it looks like I will have a whole row to myself for my return flight back to NYC.  :)

DR td - So... I guess you'll be setting up regular six-month tunings and regulations from now on? ;)

*Some tuners will give you a package deal if you set up a schedule with them.
