I would have been done by now if I hadn't loaded two tapes in the wrong resolution. Argh.

Now that our testing spots are done, I should be able to stay low-res for the rest of the season. Yay!

May I respectfully disagree?  Thursday is the night I LIVE for all week long!  When these shows are gone/in reruns, my Thursdays will be a void.  And my weekends will be the lesser for not having the Thursday night shows I couldn't watch when they aired available to watch on my DVR.

Sigh.

For me, it will afford opportunities to winnow down the stacks of DVDs, HD-DVDs, and Blu-rays that are sitting in my den. Change is good.

Besides, there are PLENTY of summer shows returning that I'll be able to give time to, among them BURN NOTICE, THE CLOSER, and MAD MEN.

I finished all of the bonus features on THE THIEF OF BAGDAD's second disc which included lengthy audio interviews with Miklos Rozsa and Michael Powell.

Loved the stills section, especially the behind-the-scenes shots.

Michael S - Could you make your announcement before Wednesday?  I won't have internet access once I leave for Washington on Wednesday.

I had some time before prime time TV started, so I pulled off the shelf a movie we've talked about this week - THE BIRDS.

I only got Melanie across the bay, but it's so enjoyable: that long set-up before anything earth shattering happens. The genius of Hitchcock laying the groundwork so carefully and lulling the audience into repose.

But argh! I have no time to finish the movie. I've GOT to start on THE INVADERS tomorrow. It's five discs with lots of bonus features.

GREY'S ANATOMY:

One of the angriest, most venting hours of TV I've ever seen. Yes, there were some compensating moments (the elevator scene at the end). Good acting from everyone, but it was just like walking on nails - so sharp and cutting.

And who knew that "Ava" was such a mental case?

LOST:

Wow! Agonizing moments with the present day story and with the flashforward. Turning, turning, turning those tension screws. And a two week wait before we get to LOST's season finale. Whew!

Ran the additional ten fixes by muse Margaret and we're doing two of the ten - she felt, rightfully so, that the others, which all were dialogue-related, while perhaps proper, didn't suit the character speaking the dialogue.  And one non-dialogue one, while I suppose proper, was so awkward-sounding and so not the voice of the book, that we let it be.  And I agree with her - you can't jeopardize the voice just to have something be grammatically correct, but really bad-sounding in terms of the particular sentence in the particular book.  I've noticed more and more people doing it, because once you've established a style for the narrator, you can't just get all proper all of a sudden, if that's not what the book is.  And nothing we're leaving is actually incorrect - and the proofer said so - said it was fine either way, but felt it her job to at least point out the other way.

I shall now finish the motion picture I am watching.  My eyes are a bit bleary from all the Nudie Musical work, but I shall watch nonetheless.

I forgot to mention--BK's own Kevin Spirtas appeared in the extendo-vision version of Daredevil, which I am reviewing as part of a massive Marvel Boxed Set.

Good evening, things have been VERY busy at work.  Lots of new cases, many quite serious criminal cases or contested immigration cases.  I haven't had time for lunch or to go to the bathroom during the day for the past 2 days, lol.  I'm really tired, but it's a very good tired. Tomorrow is supposed to be an office work day, I'm hoping that it pans out that way.

She of the Evil Eye is actually coming tomorrow morning rather than Saturday.  And I'm jiggy with that.
