She creeps me out. But some feminists are supporting her, I hear? I cannot think why.

I cannot speak for all feminists, only for myself. I have always tried to support other women who try to get ahead, break new ground, etc. There have been a couple times, however, when I felt I simply could not support someone, despite my desire to see women get ahead. Ms Palin is one of them; her views and mine are just too opposed. I have heard quite a few women interviewed who, IMHO, identify so strongly on gender alone that nothing else seems to matter. It's one thing to say, "I support her views," but in many of the interviews that wasn't what I was hearing; it seemed to be predominantly a gender issue.

Others may disagree; this is just my take on it.

And, sadly, I believe DR Danise's DD Bear has passed on too. :(

We were awakened this morning to the lovely sounds of the construction crew next door in a loud (LOUD) verbal altercation with someone, probably the neighbors who bought the farm house in front of the lots being developed.  An unending string of expletives which of course perked up the ears of our boys.  :)  I of course took the high road and called the police.

Lucky you. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. when my son opened the back door to let the cat out and the door alarm went off.

Roomba had been malfunctioning last week and I just yesterday remembered the little bearings come off of the rotating brushes (brushes?  did you say brushes?  yes, rotating brushes--almost a Monty Python reference), and I found the posts under the bearings tangled with doghair.  Little Roomba is a happy robot now and no longer giving error messages.

I guess now I'm the "reasonable" neighbor, LOL--when I went over to ask the crew not to leave their diesel fume-belching truck running in front of my house (they park right in front of our yard), they were *very* polite and ran to turn it off.  Funny how a visit from the police can do that.

Perhaps today's Topic of The Day should really be about the late Paul Newman's films.

Here's the email I got:

Bill Moyers is doing a poll on his PBS site asking, 'Is Sarah Palin qualified to be president?'  As you will see, right wing interests are packing the poll.  Would you take a moment to do this URL and register your vote?
http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
If you can pass it along to friends who would be able to vote, it would help.  We'd like to take away a Palin talking point from the right, if possible.

Well, at 49% to 49% I don't think Mr. Moyer will get much from this poll.

Consider this - according to current projections, if McCain can pick up NH and VA (both states have Obama ahead by only 1%), the Electoral College will tie 269-269.

The Presidential Race would go to the House, where that body would surely elect Obama as President.

The Vice Presidential race would go to the Senate. The Senate splits 49-49 with two independents. If Sen Lieberman voted with the Republicans, there would be a Biden/Palin tie.

Who breaks Senate ties - the VP - Dick Cheney.

So on Inauguration Day we could have President Obama and Vice President Palin sworn in together.

der Brucer

To add to the fun , the Constitution is not clear whether the VP can break this particular kind of tie vote.

Interesting & terribly frightening.  As of today I would rather have McCain & Biden.

I'm with Cilla in my dislike for Obama, something about him scares me.  For months I've been telling Keith I'm writing in Ron Paul, at least he understands the economic situation.

Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to vote.

Well, maybe a lot of the 49% for her are waiting to see if she shoots herself in the foot during her debate. It was nice to hear Mr Biden's comments after the debate last night, but I notice they're keeping Mrs Palin out of site for the nonce. I'm sure she's being programed after her Katie Couric interview.

I slept later than I wanted to, which is very unusual.  I must now begin my jog in less than ten minutes if I'm to do everything that needs doing before heading over to LACC.

This has been a bad week for electical applainces in Chateu de le Vixter

Dishwasher: only running wash cycle... rinse cycle appears to be kaput

microwave: deader than a doornail

dryer: more of a dampner

computer: keeps shutting down

Oh my, that is too much at once.  I'm guessing the dryer & computer take priority for repairs.

Since the Bush administration has terrified me for the past 8 years and both McCain and Palin terrify me more, especially everything she represents whether or not you think it won't be a part of the agenda from those nominating her, I see nothing terrifying about Mr Obama at all. I certainly see him behaving better before the leaders of the world than the Palins.

Our day includes a restock-the-refrigerator trip to Kroger and the Octoberfest at the church whose building our congregation uses when they're finished with it on Sunday mornings.
