IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT
« on: October 21, 2003, 10:00:06 PM »

Today's topic of discussion: It's Ask BK Day, and also Ask Dear Reader Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader all your excellent questions.  So, let's have loads of lovely posts, shall we?  And don't be afraid, dive in and post as much and as often as you want.  And don't forget -  8) ;D ::) :) ;) :D

First post on the new board... HUZZAH!

My question for all the dear readers (and Bruce) - What is one thing from your childhood that got lost or you threw out that you regret and why?

Second post!  Wow, this really is different looking...but I like it!  It's sleek and modern and also modern and sleek.  And we can do fun stuff...
My question for bk.  How did you, a guy who refuses to change internet providers even though the one he has is causing problems, get talked into this change?

I got talked into it because there was no choice.  With our growth we had to take this step.  And now, we can continue growing until we are the Godzilla of all websites.  Damn them, damn them all to hell.  And, for those who had to go to all the considerable trouble to bold or italicize or whatever - just look above you and see how damn easy it is - bold italics  underline and on and on.   :-\

It's also easy to add a link.  For example, if you want to go to www.brucekimmel.com just highlight that address, click the little globe thing above (insert hyperlink)

I LOVE the look of the new HHW!  This is so fun...it's like a virtual playground, hehe.  This is indeed the Mothra and the Godzilla of websites!

Hmmm...I wish  I still had my blankie from my early childhood.  I loved my blankie, but I literally wore it to shreds.  The remnants of Blankie are in a closet somewhere in the house I think.

Hmm when I was younger, my mother gave away my Barbie doll tent/campout set, and that upset me. I know I'll probably think of something later, but for now, that will do.

What did I lose from my childhood that I'd like back today? Innocence, I think. The lack of hving to deal with anything more than playing. :)

Well, I must say this all looks quite fantabulous!

Umm...Ann... is it just me, or does "having too much fun with your profile" sound like a thread for a whole 'nother kind of board???

This has been a sucky day.  Der Brucer was told by the moving company that they don't want to do business with him.  This is after a week of trying to finalize exactly how they are doing business with him.  Which untimately means they were just giving him the business.

I'll have to give details tomorrow.  Until then, it's just sucky.

Just tell those Bad Men that six automatically generated characters are going to show up and do the complete Turkey Lurkey Time until they want to throw themselves from the highest turret.

Would these happen to be six automatically generated characters in search of an author?

Wow! What a loverly new site! I'm quite impressed. Of course, I wouldn't have expected any less with our very own Mark Bakalor working on the project. Congrats to all involved!

So far so good...no rodent sightings tonight.

BTW, BK...I got myself out of bed just to check this here new site, risking the chance of seeing another one of those vermin...  ;)

Hi, I just thought I'd introduce myself really quick, I've been working behind the scenes with Mark getting this software set up - I'm the tech guy. :)  I was responsible for restoring the site from backup, getting it back up and running, and installing movable type and this board, etc, so mark could take over and design it.  I really didn't know this community existed before the crash and subsequent rebuilding and found it rather interesting.  I'm no stranger to musicals myself - I've accompanied the local community theater (I know, I know, midwestern Iowa is a far cry from New York, but still).  Thinking of writing my own someday but we'll see how that goes.

Let's see, to stay on topic, I need to ask a question of Bruce or the readers.  Hmm, a question, a question.  OK, here's a really simple one for both Bruce and the readers.  If there was one place in the world that you could live without regard for money, where would it be?  I think I'd live in East Asia somewhere.  I like the family ties and simplicity of life in china or thailand.  We seem to have lost that here.

Well, nice meeting you all, perhaps I'll check back here from time to time to see how everyone is and make sure the board is working right.  "ta-ta".

How exciting.  Not a LOT of time to play this morning, but I will be back.

 ???

I probably didn't do that right, but I will work on it.

Good morning everyone! I am regstered here and having a ball reading all of your bee-yoo-ti-ful posts!  : ;D

SWW: I'm sorry about your movers! Kick them in the shins, that's what I say. And that HURTS too.

A big welcome to DuskGlow, aka Russell. I'm going to call you Russell, which is much more family-ish than 'DuskGlow". Where would I like to live? NYC. I know, it's not too far away, it's not exotic, but I still want to live there. Someday!

What did I lose as a child? I haven't got a clue...I'm a packrat, I still have everything. I was very flitty as a little kid, I don't think it would have affected me if I had lost something.

George- Your member number will show up by your name next to your post.

I'm borderline chickening out for this costume thing today.I don't want to look like an idiot, but it's SO FUN! Errrr.

Kudos to Mark and Russell for getting us this far! :)

I wasn't able to sleep, so I got up and found THIS. Hmmm. It may take me a year or two to get used to it. It seems like fun... I guess. I think I'll either go back to bed or have an early bowl of oatmeal.... Wasn't that a scintillating post?
