And this one ought to do it!  100 posts!

And it took only a moderate frenzy!

I was out for much of the day, just got in. Only one April Fools joke played on me today(by my daughter on the phone). I HATE April Fools jokes. :P
When Rachel was still living at home, she'd always find some way to ambush me on April 1. One year - her proudest achievement she tells me - she rigged the kitchen sink faucet so that when I turned it on in the morning, it sprayed me in the face. Now that she's in San Francisco she has to get her jollies on the phone. At least I'm not dripping wet.

Here's my proudest achievement in April Fool's jokes.

When I was 'round nine years old, my brother Eddie was just learning to read, so he had a number of children's books checked out from the public library.  I took down the names of the books he'd checked out, and went to the library myself and checked out the same books...in French.  While he wasn't looking, I replaced his English books with my French books, and managed to convince Eddie that he'd forgotten how to read.  Of course, he was rather upset about this development...

And even though I got punished for my mean ol' joke, I could tell that Mum was actually pretty amused by the whole thing.

Oh, and here I am, reading and enjoying Kritzer Time.  Don't I look enraptured???

I thought it was a photo Guy Haines reading the book

I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that.

LOL-my older son didn't need April Fools to play that trick on me.  The first time he would have been in big trouble if I hadn't changed out of a silk blouse before doing the dishes.  Note I said first time.  He often threatens to do it to me again.

About five years ago the “boys” (they are now 24 & 27) put something in Keith’s mug that should have foamed when he added liquid.  It didn’t foam & Keith drank it, we guess.  That scared them out of any more practical jokes.  They watched Keith all day to make sure he didn’t get sick.

Today I received a nice April Fools package from Portland.  My son sent a large bag of delicious Jordon Almonds from a wonderful candy store in the Pearl District. :D

I forgot to mention these Jordon Almonds not only taste great but they are beautiful.  They look like assorted colored polished stones.

Jennifer, thank you.  I am really puzzled as to why the tour is passing us up.  We have some good theater here.  I would have expected the show to be at the Ginger Rogers Craterion Theater in Medford.  Needles to say, I’m very disappointed.

Jane, does Medford often get the "A" tours coming through?  I rarely (if ever) see them on those tour listings.  Usually from Seattle to Portland, then straight down to San Francisco or San Jose.  Where I do see Medford pop up is on the schedules of the "B" tours, the ones that also hit Spokane, Boise, and Anchorage on their Northwest swing.

Being a substitute teacher on April Fools Day... does this sound like a good idea to anybody??? :D  Luckily, I was working with a couple truly wonderful Spanish classes, and I made it through my day as Señor Slaughter unscathed.

Jane, I remember Jordan Almonds. They do look like little colored Easter eggs. And if you peel off the hard shell, you get nuts, too! Mmmmmmm. When I worked for Keith at the movie theater, I think we sold those. Yipes, that was a hundred years ago.

Maybe that is why I haven’t been interested in going to Medford for the arts recently.   ;D
I don’t know about the plays but I have seen some outstanding performances there, such as the St. Petersburg Ballet.

I'm glad you made it safely through the day. :)

And did I tell you that my parents have sold their house and are moving to The Valley??? Fifty-one years on that corner, in Kritzer Land. They found a house near Tami's, just off the Simi Freeway, at Porter Ranch. I'll be heading down probably Tuesday or Wednesday (hate to leave my flowers right before the big explosion of blooms...) to help pack 'em up and move 'em out. It's about time - they have outlived everyone in the old neighborhood, and should have moved 6 or 7 years ago. Farewell to Preuss Road, corner of Sawyer, one block East of Robertson, 8 blocks South of Pico. And the same phone number all those years. Where does it go, when it goes? Time just seems to telescope into itself, into another whole dimension. Musings.

My mom used to give us each a quarter on Saturdays, and we walked down to Pico Blvd, to the Stadium. Cheapest, best babysitter in the world: double feature, cartoons, even a yo-yo contest... we were out of her hair, out of her house from noon to 5 every Saturday -- sitting, no doubt, very close to our neighbor, Ben Kritzer. And the Lido - that was walking distance, too. The trampoline place. It was a wonderful place to grow up, and it's wonderful to remember.

There is only one family still there, on the block, who were there when we moved in all those years ago. The Kirsch family - they had eight kids, and naming them all, in order, was the same sort of feat as naming the seven dwarves or Santa's reindeer.

Frances, JoAnne, Larry (may he rest in peace), Mary Jane, Eddie (may he rest in peace), Kathy, Terry, Jimmy. And all the girls had Marie as a middle name, except Mary Jane. And all the boys had Joseph in there. Eddie died young in an airplane accident with the boy next door; and Larry's helicopter went down over Haleakala Crater, after surviving so many missions in Viet Nam and as a pilot for the movies... What kind of fool was Icarus?

Wow, that was fast!  Did they sell it on the open market or before listing it?

My Dad's condo was suppose to close escrow today-April Fools on us.  Now it should close on Tues. or Wed.

So long ago I don't remember it.  Which theater, the Stanley Warner?
