I wonder if BK was an influence because one of their numbers was based on Tradition, which was re-done here yesterday.

Well, all I can tell you is I've been doing my What Ifs since 1997, and each and every one of them was online and read by many people, including the authors of Avenue Q.

LOL - well, you know what they say about flattery.

Re: The Quiz.  LOL....I had never taken it before.  I am still considering my answers.  Waiting for some SMART DR to come up with something...LOL.

Have fun tomorrow, MR BK.  What a treat it will be for you!  Meeting the great unwashed, who will hopefully have $$$ in their hands for books.  The great thing about a book fair, the people are coming to BUY!

DVD player - KING OF KINGS

CD player - Albert Glasser music including several takes of music from ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE featuring DR Susan Gordon.  Cd courtesy DRMBOLLYWOOD....I mean..  MBARNUM.

VHS - HARLOW with Miss Carroll Baker.

The VARIETY review for ASSASSINS was a rave. Ken Mandelbaum's was positive, but he preferred the original production.

Now, if this production will just EXTEND through July, I'll possibly have a chance to see it.

Friday Media Alert:

CD - ABSOLUTELY THE BEST OF THE LETTERMEN

DVD - the remaining act of STAR! to be followed by CALL ME MADAM and SWEENEY TODD

DVR - last night's WILL & GRACE and SCRUBS. And I'll be recording LA DOLCE VITA off TCM tonight if I'm still watching DVDs at 9 p.m.

Isn't it funny. When I was growing up, LA DOLCE VITA was synonymous with immorality and baseness. Now, it can appear in its original version on a cable channel. How times have changed!

Help, Hollywood HHW Scribes - does this bode well or ill:

Writer Scott B. Smith will pen the remake of ED CID for producer Arthur Sarkissian with Martin Campbell directing.

And does anyone know anything about this version of the movie?[/size]

Maybe it's a sequel to "ED WOOD"?

MBarnum - during the last chat, I think you asked me about Deepa Mehta. But I had a computer glitch and was thrown off. When I returned you were gone. Sooo, here's the response - She directed, among other things, BOLLYWOOD/HOLLYWOOD

Oy. Re: the quiz, for some reason I missed the last line where it said "subtract 5".  So I was totally confused.  But I get it now. :)

Does anybody here watch the Fox show Tru Calling?  It has gotten so good since Jason Priestley arrived.  Last night's episode was AMAZING.

Oh, MY! C.C. Browns. It's a good thing I'm not in Southern California right now. I would be there scarfing down a Royal Mocha Sundae. Oooh, I'm drooling on my keyboard.

Well, unfortunately you can't be there - they closed their doors in 1996 I think.  I was one of the priveleged few who got to go to their private closing party.  I miss them very much.  Over the years I've brought hundreds upon hundreds of people there.  Every time I dine at Musso and Frank I think, "Well, I'll just walk down to C. C. Brown's for dessert," and then I remember I can't.

And if you've never had their hot fudge sundae, I urge each and every one of you to order a jar from the website - and tell them Bruce Kimmel sent you.

I will have posted 3700 times on this here board.  I think THAT deserves a C.C. Brown's hot fudge sundae.

BK, re:  Jan Akkerman.  If you don't have it already, go to Tower and order the import-only release of his 70s self-titled album on Atlantic.  It's the one with him in bed with the guitar turning into a woman (very cool cover).  It has some truly stunning stuff on it.

The hot fudge sundae comes in a jar, or just the hot fudge?

TCB:  A buss is what takes you from point A to point B.  What you do when you get there has a different name.

P.S.  Is that photo of you from a stage production of "The Kenny Rogers Story"??????

OOohh! That C.C. Brown's looks good!!

We have a place her in Salem called The Konditerei and oh my golly but they have the best cakes in the world! MMmmmmm! It was my favorite place to go for dessert on a date!!

But alas, those days are over....I went to my dietician appointment to find out what I can and cannot eat, and how much, for my diabetes. Sadly, I cannot eat sooooo many of the things I love :(

And you have to measure and trade and blah, blah, blah...! I am not gonna like this very much! I am one who loves food and loves to eat everything in sight, trying all sorts of new and tasty exotic treats!

On the bright side, I was able to enjoy 40 years of good eating (which is probably why I have this problem now! LOL!)

This is actually a photo from the sequel, Kenny Rogers Comes Out.  That explains the hands under the face.

DR MBarnum: Those of us trying to lose weight, can relate to wanting to eat everything in sight.  Although it's surely not the same as diabetes.

I hope your new eating plan isn't too much of a hardship.

Is it only sweets you have to stay away from?

Or can you indulge in other foods you love?

Does anyone from Oregon (or Washington) know if Rose's is still open in Portland?  They used to have cinnamon rolls that were so big (How big were they?); that you didn't buy them, you took out a mortgage, instead.
