Good Afternoon!

It's also quite the fabulously fair weather day here in Northern Virginia.  The sun is out.  Not too hot.  Not too cold.  And a nice breeze blowing too.

I'm logging on from my parents house while I'm waiting for my nephew to get home from school so I can get one of his trademarked unconditional-love, makes-me-feel-so-good hugs that he likes to gives.  My father just got home from work too, and he informed me that everyone here has also been dealing with various allergy and sinus maladies the past few weeks.  So, I guess I haven't missed much... But still, I can't believe that I've only visited once in the past four weeks - and I'm only staying 10 miles away?!?!?  But I'm here now.

My doctor also called me this afternoon to check up on things.  So far, so good.  Just one "inconvenience", but she'll check that out when I go in Monday for another follow up.  Yes, another follow up.  Which is OK by me.  I really want to make sure that whatever was in my system is truly out of my system.  -And with those new antibiotic-resistant strains of strep going around, one - well, I - can't be too careful nowadays.

DR WEL - As others have stated, there's been many instances where music in a trailer and/or commercial was not used in the movie.  Heck, even movie themes have been "recycled".  Remember how many times that theme from "St. Elmo's Fire" was used for various movies?  Or even the theme from "Terms of Endearment"?  -I particularly remember that one being used in the commercials for "Steel Magnolias".  -And I remember thinking, "Hey, why are they reusing that music?!?!?"  -As long as someone is getting a royalty...  ;)

Well, I'm gonna head downstairs and continue waiting for my nephew... and his hug...

All marks are fun, even Mr. Mark Bakalor.

I started listing in my mind other fun marks when it suddenly occurred to me:  I wasn't allowed to see the movie Mark of the Devil when I was a kid.  I'm now 45 and I still haven't seen it!  Is this on DVD?  Anyone see it?

Is it Strawberry Jello? Sounds like a good old-fashioned elementary school lunch.

A friend of mine just sent me an e-mail asking if I had gotten a chance to visit the BK chicken-porn website.  Well, I was shocked!  Shocked, I tell you.  First of all, I had no idea that this friend even knew BK.  And second of all, I thought BK had managed to limit himself to girls slathered in butter.

It turns out the BK in question is, in fact, Burger King; and the website is apparently the hottest advertising gimmick around.   The website features a man dressed in a chicken suit, but with stockings and a garter belt.  The chicken, a la amateur web cam sites, acts out the instructions given to him by the web surfers.

The web address, for those old enough or sick enough (td and Tomovoz, I am talking to you), is below.  However, be forewarned!  The website is extremely slow to open due to the fact that they have already received over 150 million hits.  I guess this means that HHW will remain, for the moment, the second most popular site on the internet.

Hey TCB didn't Jrand give us that website earlier this week?

Okay I'm confused.  It's a porn site?  The chicken does commands (like sit or jump).  What the heck else does it do that makes it porn?

DR Maya asked (yesterday) about the play The SHAPE OF THINGS.  I have not seen it.  But they are doing a production here, and I will see it next Sunday.

I have no idea!  All I remember is that it came out around 1971-72 and that it's about witches and devil worshippers and there's a real cool scene where they pull a witch's tongue out!

The chicken would not do everything I told it to do.  Evidently, it has standards.  Reminds me of some dates I've had...

Jennifer -- I don't remember Jrand giving us a chicken site.  I remember the purple (or was it blue) hippo in the dance belt, but I don't remember a chicken.  If this is a duplicate of something posted earlier at this site, then my apologies.

Meant to respond to this earlier, but forgot.  Haven't seen it, either, but it is the first production next year at SUNY Brockport.  (Remember, all you interested parties, that the final production at Brockport next season is Anthony Shaffer's MURDERER.)

I've just skimmed it -- basically for plot points and such to incoporate into the press materials -- and it seems interesting, if you have interest in the goings on with a quartet of friends and lovers on a college campus.

I actually think GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE is a clever and well made little comedy. From what I saw of DUDLEY, it isn't in that league, but it was still OK, especially as I think Brendan Fraser is an ingratiating and charming actor.

DR JRand I'm pretty sure it was you who posted the chicken.  I know somebody did for sure, cause I remember looking at it.

DR TCB, the link was posted, however nobody said anything about porn.  I think we were just told to look at the cute chicken.

I'm still really confused about the porn part.  It's just a chickn standing there.  Why are so many people thinking it's porn and going there?

And again, maybe I'm missing some of the chicken's talents.  But the things I saw it do were definitely PG.

Udo Kier and Herbert Lom star.  It's no WITCHFINDER GENERAL, hell, it isn't even a CONQUEROR WORM, but it is quite sadistic and very bloody.  It was only rated "M" when it came out. . .hmmm.  I have a videotape of it around somewhere, but to my knowledge, it's never been on dvd.

Mushroom and pepperoni.  Or was it pepperoni and mushroom?

I also just got a lovely box from C.C. Brown's.  I sent them my books (in which they play a significant role) and they, in return, sent me twelve jars of hot fudge sauce.  I am stylin'.

Thanks MattH. For some reason I have been in the mood for some Brendon Fraser.
I saw him live ( :-*) in London...

Not sure, but it's very possible that I saw him live, as well.  I can't remember what shows he was in, but back when he was some no-name young actor, he did one summer with the now-defunct Laughing Horse Summer Theatre in my very own hometown of Ellensburg.  I saw a number of LHST shows over the years, so I think it's very possible I saw him in something.  I'd think it very possible that DR Ann may have, as well.  Heck, was your father maybe even in a show with Brendan Fraser, Ann?

Jennifer -- I am quite sure that Burger King would prefer that people not call it porn either.  I only brought the whole thing up because a friend asked me if I had seen BK's Chicken Porn Site, and, of course, I assumed they were talking about our BK, not Burger King.  I am sure that is being referred to as chicken porn because it is meant to mimic the amateur webcam porn sites that you find all over the internet.  At those sites, so I have been told, you can get the model (or in this case the chicken) to do anything you want it to do, including lewd acts.
