DR Jennifer - you can put your pin to the right of mine in Montreal since you live in the West Island.  Andrea can put her's left of mine since she's in the East End.  Am I the only Downtowner on the boards?

In the meantime - watch out for icebergs in them North Atlantic waters. I hear they are quite cold

Well right now I am still stuck in the ocean till DR Mark tells me how to delete the pin!

Well keep begging. I'm not sure who gave me karma (maybe BK?). But it feels nice.

Jennifer, thank you!  It was hosted by Imagestation, which happens to be down right now, so it can't send the image.  I took the picture off until I can get home and upload one from my home computer, then we'll be in business and I won't have to rely on Imagestation!  Yay!

I don't know if DR Noel told you all this, but guess what we got for a wedding present from our dear friends Margit and Al, who wrote a musical together and recorded it with our voices singing some of the parts?  Tickets to Wicked

OMG that is so great about the tix. Have fun!

Btw, I'm not sure if I like the pics yet. They sort of scare me. But I did like yours a lot!

Jen, 25 doesn't get you another star, I think it's 50 posts. JRand has 30 some posts and he's still a single star member. There is an explanation of "Membership Levels" at, you guessed it, The Tech Board :-)

Ha ha ha.  Actually I did read the explanation. But then I forgot the answer. And my computer is too slow to keep going back and forth between boards.

Hey! I'd like some karma, too!!!!

Does having posted about an Egyptian chef count for nothing here?  !?!?

And, now, I'd also like to find out just how BK attached that picture. . .so,  I'll run over to the tech folder. . .

Well, DRs, I'm at work and will be here for the next 4 hours...thank God I have HHW with which to entertain myself!  Oh gee...I've been working as an English tutor for too long.  I can't believe I actually typed "with which"  :o

Emily--"kitty altoids???"
[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]LOL![/move]

Joy--I am SO jealous right now that you have Wicked tickets...hey, that almost rhymes.  When are you going to see it?

I WANT KARMA TOO!  Please??  I mean, I think I deserve it.  I do good things.  I held the elevator open for someone today.  I am a very karmalescent individual!  :P

Never have had Egyptian food. I'm thinking it's like lots of Middle Eastern food perhaps. Don't even know if there is an Egyptian restaurant here in NYC. There must be with the plethora of cuisines and people.

Well I am out of the Atlantic.  For anyone interested, you can move your pin, even after it's saved itself in the wrong place (btw, i never saved myself in the atlantic). Just click on "save pin" and move it. And refresh.

Yeah DR Maya has karma. But who is giving it?

Karma moves in strange ways.  ::)

Mr BK or any other DR in the Los Angeles area:

Do you ever travel on North Orange Grove Ave?  The block I am interested in is north of Hollywood Blvd between Fairfax and Ogden and just north of Hillside Av.

The address is 1757 N Orange Grove Dr.  Is the house still there? 8)

As the day wears on, I'm slowly recounting my dreams of the night before.  I'm  practically SURE I had a dream (no Gypsy reference here) about the new HHW board, and I know in that dream I had dinner (possibly at Joe Allens becuase I'm planning on visiting there in Dec) with Juliana and we discussed her triple journal entry.  Gotta love this place.   :)

I'm currently living in Woodland Hills so I don't get to that area every day, JRand. Unless I have auditions or something else to bring me closer to the L.A. area... until I buy or build a house closer in the relativley near future...

It seems that today I can post. In fact, I'm a post-er child for posting! No groans at HHW. I slept on the floor last night - actually on a featherbed which was on the floor, with the frame of the bed around me. It turned out to be very cozy and I slept in - which I never do. I'm moving  in exactly two weeks!

DR Jennifer:  The special smilies are basically just images that I pulled from another site and posted using the tags.

DR Emily:  They do make breath fresheners for kitty cats!

DR Maya:  I love that you use proper grammar, it makes me feel comforted!  And I love your picture, it is beautiful and looks kind of Gothish.  Are you a Goth Girl?

We're going to see Wicked in January.  Yay!

I am so happy that DR Joy & Noel are seeing WICKED

What a wonderful present.

Thanks DR MBak - maybe you should buy the house at 1757 N Orange Grove!  It has an auspicious history!  ;D

DR Jennifer welcome back onto dry land!

Is NBC showing reruns again tonight because of the World Series?

MBarnum:

I don't know very much about Egyptian food - but I do know this very interesting tidbit about Egyptians and their eating habits (which strangely enough came from the mouth of my ARAB WORLD prof. - whose class I am skipping right now).

The United Nations (for which the prof. used to work before getting his doctorate) does a tally each year on the staple foodstuffs of the average citizen in several "representative" country and then makes comparitive studies based on that info.

The first year they did the study, they were amazed to see that Egyptians were claiming that they ate something outrageous like 15 lbs of flatbread (similar to pita) every day.

After some indepth interviews and some background research they discovered why.  It turns out that with consumer subsidies (where the government holds a cheap price of a staple good despite outside marketing factors) for bread being REAAAALLY strong at the time - Egyptians were actually feeding their livestock pita bread because it was cheaper than grain!

Would Dr. Atkins approve of eating bread-fed beef? ;)

Ben:  Thanks for the heads up.  I was agog.  And then I was agape.  If there had been a negative sign in front of it, I'd have been aghast.

Aghast, agog and agape!

What's all this fuss about Karma, anyway.

Emily, sweetie, we've got a ways to go before hitting 25.

I really like the terrific Canadian flag that pops up on your page.

I cannot wait to see François' first post and the French flag!

And Tom from Oz' Aussie flag, too!

I'm thinking of changing my location from time to time just to see different flags.  Wonder if that would mess anything up?

I'm partial to Iceland and The Azores.

I have karma, I have karma!  A big, huggy thank you to Mr. Mark Bakalor!  I don't think he has creepy eyes, hehe!  :P ;)

Joy--thank you for the wonderful compliment.  It's one of the few good pics I have...I'm not generally that photogenic!  I was kind of a goth in high school...although not really...I wore a lot of black and dark make-up, but listened to show tunes.  I mean what true goth listens to original cast recordings, haha??  BTW, what happened to your pic?  You look so purty in it.  :D

I think they are new. West Wing was new. And I keep seeing new commercials for Friends.

Btw, I am not amused that the WS went 12 innings last night. I missed the end of Smallville!
