Does this win the page 4 cigar?  Not that I'd smoke it.

I'm back in time for CHAT, which is in a mere eight minutes.  I shall have to chat and run, however, as I haven't eaten one foodstuff today and I am starving.  I also did the gym this morning so I can eat a nice dinner.

Oh, and color me surprised but I'll be horn-swoggled if you didn't keep the home fries burning, you dear, dear people out there in the dark.  I forgot to mention that the Pogues came to the show last night and afterwards we went to Musso and Frank and had the most divoon yummilicious foodstuffs.

Was I just blissfully unaware or was today's closing of The Boy from Oz sudden?  Or has this been announced for months?  Color me confused.  Chat in a mere minute.

Good new house vibes to Bruce.  Are you going to have a house warming party?  And what about "Singing Bird"?  Are you going to leave a trail for him/her to follow you to the new abode?

I forgot about the singing bird.  ;D

Yes, tonight was the Arts and Crafts Emmys. The guest performance Emmys are also presented during this ceremony, but it's not generally televised live, at least not nationally. There may be a local LA feed of the show on some channel on the West Coast.

I agree with you, DR George, about that marvelous duet in AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND of "I Don't Remember You" and "Sometimes a Day Goes By." I got to sing the latter song when I performed the show, and I never actually realized how beautifully those songs were fit together by the arranger until I watched and listened to a videotape made of our last performance. Quite marvelous arrangement. Of course, the "Cabaret" arrangement was also especially unique and also a tremendous amount of fun to sing during `the show.

You've been very busy, bk, because the closing date for THE BOY FROM OZ was announced quite a few months ago. They wanted him to extend another six months, but he had other commitments, and searches to find a replacement were fruitless (no pun intended). NO ONE wanted to follow him in that role. They know they couldn't have lived up to his legendary performance.

George I found a definition of a ranch house-typically having one story, a spread-out floor plan, and a roof that is not steeply pitched.

SWW good healing vibes and to help those along, sleep elevated.
I hope there is a door dividing your kitchen from the rest of the house.  If not, boy are you going to have fun on raining muddy days.

Darn, guess I wont get to see BOY FROM OZ.

Panni, sometimes it is easier to answer that question about someone else than ourselves.  I could easily have mentioned the difference Danise has made but you beat me to it.  So I asked Keith to answer your question for me.  He said to paraphrase Jack Nicholson in AS GOOD AS IT GETS, “You make me want to be a better man”. (I got weepy at that) Honestly, he doesn’t need me for encouragement.  He does that all by himself. :D

It's been a beautiful weekend (80+ degrees (F)), and I just returned from a weekend away (Lake Huron area, a bit west of Stratford, Ont.).

I watched an unusual double bill. Tiger Cruise, and George White's Scandals. I was extremely taken with the former - a strong story that holds one's interest and moves at a good pace; interesting characters of different generations, who interact well; believable dialogue; and some nice touches of humor. It covers several important issues in an honest way, and I think it's a great movie for a family to watch together.

My stomach has definitely shrunk since my gym visits - normally I can polish off anything, but lately I haven't been able to quite clean my plate.

Very sad news about Fred Ebb.

Today, before I learned that he had died, I heard that it's "Grandparents' Day" - and I thought about the lively "Go Visit Your Grandmother" from 70 Girls 70. There are several songs from that show that I love, including "Home" and "Coffee in a Cardboard Cup."

"A Quiet Thing" is another of many, many favorites.

Panni,

Thanks for sharing some of the special moments from the Memorial Service.

It's an interesting question that you posed. Like Jane, I think it's easier to answer it about someone else.

I'll give the question some thought as I drift off to sleep.

A few trial packs have been completed. Clothes for various modes of transport - car, plane, train and TAXi.
I must dress to impress!

If you are interested in listening to the greatest opera recording ever made, log in RIGHT NOW to www.kusc.org (91.5 FM in Los Angeles.)  It is Puccini's Tosca with Miss Maria Callas, Mr. Giussepe DiStefano and Mr. Tito Gobbi.
