Sorry the notes went up a bit late - I was involved in a pissing contest with what I believe were two teenagers (I know, I know, I should learn) on another board (the Phantom grosses I was mentioning). I was merely pointing out that you can't trust places like the imdb and box office mojo - they're just reporting optimistic estimates from studios who frequently lie anyway (they've been caught with their pants down on hundreds even thousands of occasions, and every time they are it's gleefully reported in Variety). Well, you can't point out anything to these kids because they know it ALL. They're children of the INTERNET, after all, they visit websites and watch ACCESS HOLLYWOOD. First of all, for them to even be concerned about box-office is inanity itself. Until the eighties only a handful of movie fans ever followed box-office - now it's all that's important, which is why every news show reports it. I mean, who CARES? But, there these kids are, talking as if they are experts on box-office - I merely pointed out that I've been in the movie business much longer than they've been alive and I know just a little bit about this stuff. Not a lot, but what little I know is based on reality, not the Internet. I do not like armchair experts, and that's what these kids are - about everything. They know it all, and no one can say differently, especially if they're - wait for it - OLDER.
