I know only a few DRs are aware of his work, but comic book legend Will Eisner died yesterday.  While he is mostly know as the creator of The Spirit, he did extraordinary work in a number of graphic novels that were published during the past twenty years or so.  He was a wonderful writer/artist.

I am trying to remember passwords and usernames, because with the change of computers came the loss of all the PC cookies.

Good Evening!

Now that I've some time to think about it, here's my Top 10 Most Listened To CDs:

1 - "Passion in Jazz" - Terry Trotter Trio
2 - big (OBC) - There's just something so "happy" about this score to me.
3 - Merrily We Roll Along (OBC) - Love that Overture!  Love those horns!
4 - "Knoxville: Summer of 1915" - Dawn Upshaw.  -However, I usually skip over Harbison's "Mirabai Songs".  -Oh, and is there a recording of "The Old Maid and the Thief"?
5 - Violet (OCR)
6 - "New Moon Shine" - James Taylor.  Although I go through JT phases with "October Road", "Greatest Hits (1)" and "Hourglass"
7 - "An Innocent Man" - Billy Joel
8 - "Tears of Joy" - Tuck & Patti - I like their latest stuff, mainly originals, but I'm hoping they do another album of standards.
9 - "So Many Stars" - Kathleen Battle - A very neat crossover album, jazz meets classical and vice versa.
10 - "The Harold Alren Songbook" - Ella Fitzgerald

I think the site was just down for a few minutes.

For those who will never get to take the Kritzer tour, I was out with my new digital camera, and took some photos.  Obviously, this will only be of interest to those who've read the books.  Here is the house Benjamin lived in until he was sixteen.

This was Benjamin's favorite hamburger place when he was little - it was called Kentucky Boys.  It is now a mortuary, but the building is exactly the same as it was, save for no entrance in the front.

Here is Benjamin's beloved Daylight Market.  Building is exactly the same, except for the horrid yellow color.  This was a Staples for a while, and now it is only rented to movie companies - for what, I have no idea.

Today was JEEPERS CREEPERS, most of which I liked a lot, especially Judy Kaye's gypsy sequence and the Andrews Sisters-like "Aurora."  I can't recall the name of the song Rebecca does from VOYAGE TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, but it's quite beautiful.

You're a man of impeccable taste, DR elmore!  I'm one of the "backup singers" on Judy's track (E&T DR Jason got the big solo, "Who me?"), and I did the vocal arrangement for Michelle Nicastro's track.

Welcome DR ozderek!

Have you had your Fredo Froggie today?  Or maybe a Crunchy Bar?  Or do you prefer Violet Crumble?  Or are you more of a Rocklea Road man?

Here is the wonderful Marty's Bike and Candy Shop, where Susan Pomeroy and Benjamin would get their daily dose of red licoriche.  The original building is long gone, but this was the location.

Holy moley on rye, I'm posting from my den environment, wirelessly.  I just unplugged the power cord and moved the Powerbook in here and voila!  I'm amazed and amazed, not necessarily in that order.

Hmm... I was just rereading some of today's posts...  I guess I did have quite the "Flower Drum Song" frenzy last night/early this morning.

Thanks again, DR JRand for posting that it was going to be on.  I truly hadn't seen the movie in years, and seeing it again last night was just... WOW!  I was amazed I remembered so many particular moments, and it was also nice discovering some "new" ones.  -Oh, and I had forgotten about the multi-tracking for the last verse of "I Enjoy Being A Girl"!  And all those dance sequences!  With those random changes in tempo and feel!  Too bad they don't make them that way anymore.

Good news - I bought my wooden chicken! It's actually a rooster. I walked over to Pier I after dinner and noticed that all the chicken/roosters were slightly damaged. I picked the least damaged one and showed it to the manager. Got 25% off.

I think they made Caramello Father Christmas Chocs for the festive season.

Recall being fed one by a friend (or was that fiend) who thought I needed sweetening up!

Mucked up half that quote! Half in half out - living on the edge. I probably need a sugar fix.
