Congrats on the first Powerbook Notes, bk. I waited up for the momentous occasion and now I'm going to bed. G'night.

iTunes is a wonderful program, especially with my hip iPod and iPod accessories.  On my iPod, I have 7.60 gigs of Broadway, 2.56 of which is Sondheim.   2.45 gigs of opera too.  And 3.94 gigs of other fun stuff.  And it's true: the CDDB track lookup device is a godsend.  

Except it doesn't know everything.  It didn't know the English National Opera's complete recording of Pacific Overtures.  Which I took as a personal assault.

What a good idea.  I've got some more, which I'll post tomorrow after resizing them.

I'm still here. (a Follies reference) I don't know how to resize. The way I resize is by e-mailing the pic to myself and then copying it to my desktop. What's the easy way?

It's easy in iPhoto, but without opening the program I can't remember what I do.  I think you click on the pic, and it has something that comes up that allows you to change the pixels - I just type in 300 in the first box, and the program completes the second box.  You also have to click jpeg, and then you put the resized version somewhere in a folder (I created one called webpix).  Let me go there and see what I do, but first I must wrig.

I got a headache just writing that.  It's quite simple though - it just took me about fifteen seconds to do a new Juliana photograph, which I shall post in a moment.

Dear BK, you have once again used a word in an appropriate and proper sense.  Wrig is a perfectly acceptable Olde English verb, in it's variant spelling (and pronunciation).  It means to furnish with special gear, or to put in condition or correct position for use.  

Synonyms, which also have their Olde English variants (and which I will list here) include to eqwip, to adjuwst, to awwange, and to constwuct.  (If all this sounds like Mel Blanc was a linguistics expert, thufferin' thuccotatsch of course he was!)

So, congrats on wrigging your Powerbook!

How do you or is it the vocalist decided on the title of the album or just doing it a self title?

Example:  Anywhere I Wonder Liz Callaway Sings Frank Loesser.... Why was Anywhere I Wonder Chosen

Example: Emily Skinner's solo album is just Emily Skinner.

Example: Michelle Nicastro On My Own  Conte,porary Songs From Broadway.

There are others but these are the ones I pulled off the self first

Liz and I both liked Anywhere I Wander as a title.  Just sounded evocative.

None of the song titles on Em's album seemed appropriate as an album title, and frankly I was tired of album titles and I thought it looked and sounded elegant just to have her name.

On My Own - again, we just thought it sounded good, plus it was her signature song in Les Miz.

I don't know from iTunes or iPhoto or copying CDs in four minutes.  I just spent four-five thousands getting all new computer crap and you're already telling me I'm behind the scenes.  Hell, BK, I still have put that cord from the turntable to CD burner yet to get my vinyl on CD.  What a techno-incompetent I am!  Oh, wither the quill pen and the three-decker novel?

Well, it's been a long day - oh, a Frank Loesser reference.  I must abed.  Once there, I shall undoubtedly wrig.

I'm about to listen to Donald's radio show. Haven't done that in about a month. I sit with my cup of coffee and printouts awaiting the wonders of internet radio.

George, you have the most amazing collection of CDs! Your 1776 collection sounds like my Forum and Call Me Madam collections. I have the OBC of Forum, the London production with Frankie Howerd, the movie and the Nathan Lane revival. For CMM I have the 12 songs by Ethel, the Dinah Shore "cast recording", the Tyne Daly Encores recording, the Prism release which combines Dinah and some of Ethel on one disk along with a couple of tracks from a London production and then I did with Call Me Madam what you did with 1776, making a CD of the soundtrack using my DVD as the source. It's also longer than the recently released CD of the film soundtrack because I, too, included bits of dialogue and sometimes when it was difficult to make the cut, I just included incidental music. It was a lot of work, but I'm happy with the end result.

Good morning, all!  I'm sitting here rather vague about the day ahead.  So far, the coffee isn't helping much, so I'm going to blame it on the weather.  The only things I'm certain about are the CDs I'm playing in the office today:

THE ROSE & THE BRIAR, CD companion to a new book about American ballads, it includes Jean Ritchie's "Barbara Allen," and tracks by a ton of neat folk like Duke Ellington, Marty Robbins, Bob Dylan, Jan & Dean, Jelly Roll Morton, Burl Ives and more.  The book is a neat collection of essays on various ballads, beginning with "Barbara Allen," including others like "Frankie and Johnny," "Omi Wise," and  "The Foggy, Foggy Dew."  It's highly recommended.

DRJose, I loved the wedding photo!  You make one spooky bride.  I first thought you looked like Mother Bates, but on second look, you're much sultrier.
