Speaking of Amber Tamblyn... I turned on the TV to see if I could get some Storm of the Century info. I stumbled upon one of the new Twilight Zones. This one stars a younger Amber Tamblyn as a girl in some futuristic community where everyone must Conform. The big threat to the teens - which they keep repeating endlessly - is that if they misbehave they will be sent to a military school called... Arcadia!

That's what we need, a "new" Twilight Zone, written by idiots raised on Syd Field and Robert McKee.

I wish I had a video camera to record this downpour.  It's really something.  Apparently we've had more rain than Seattle.

Oh, if only I had a scone I'd throw it at the rain.  That is so poetic, isn't it?  Perhaps I'll write a song.

If only I had a scone
I'd throw it at the rain
And maybe then
The rain would feel some pain
And if the rain felt pain
Perhaps the pain would cause the rain
To stop
Going ker-plop

What a fine song that is.  I must hurry and register it for copyright.

The host of the "new" Twilight Zone - that is, the "new" Rod Serling - is... Forrest Whittaker.

Re:  Creature music.  Synchronicity that you should mention that because I have, for some inexplicable reason, been watching the Creature movies with their commentaries.  The Creature Walks Among Us has just gotten to the various composers who worked on the film(s) and they are talking about how the various cues were divvied up between them.

And it turns out Creature #2 star Lori Nelson is yet another one who owes her contract to Sophie Rosenstein, the legendary drama coach who got her first Hollywood job due to her long connection with, you guessed it, Frances Farmer.

I have tidied my room and done the dishes.  I have eaten Cream of Wheat.  I have gone to the gym.  I have visited my dear friend Tiana at the store where she worked.  There I purchased a pair of workout pants that are actually long enough for my legs.  Do we have any other taller females around here that suffer this problem?  Regular pants are just too darn short.  I have purchased some Thai food and a Tripleberry Julius...instead of an Orange Julius...and now I am ready to look through the Sunday job postings whilst eating Thai food and watching The Fifth Element.

But I'd just be a-stuffin'
it in the Twilight Zone
So right now I'm informin'

According to ROCK OPERA: THE CREATION OF JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR FROM RECORD ALBUM TO BROADWAY SHOW AND MOTION PICTURE by Ellis Nassour, Hawthorn, 1973, "Could We Start Again, Please" was a suggested addition to the Second Act by original director Frank Corsaro, who was injured in a car crash during casting and replaced by Tom O'Horgan.

But ya do, ya do have a video camera, Blanche  BK.  (Or at least you have a camera that takes three minute video clips.)

Yes, but I still think ALW tried to claim he had written it for the (at that point still unmade) film in order to get a nomination.  It may have even been a Golden Globe nomination he was trying to get, which is even funnier, IMHO.  I'm still almost positive I read a Times or somesuch article that discussed this during awards season that year, because I remember kind of laughing when the nominations came out and he hadn't succeeded.  There's no question the song was in the stage version first, it's how our esteemed Sir Andrew tried to revise history that I was commenting on.

OTOH, I just noticed that one of the little banner ads up above is for The Memory Place, so maybe I need to go have my head examined.   ;D

Is Kudos anorexic?  That would only add to its Lifetime-ability, so to speak.

I forgot I can take video clips.  However, I have to read the 300 page booklet to figure out HOW to do such a thing and by that time it will be darker than dark out.

It did NOT rain here today as I thought it would.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  And despite the fact that I have a cold and sound like Selma Diamond, I took Sugar for her walk.

The bad thing about it being such a wonderful sunny day is that it did not hamper the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon whicg started about three blocks from my house.  At exactly 8:000 AM it5 sounded like there were 4 rock bands with many amps just outside my bedroom window.  Then of course all the news had to have "Team coverage" and have a helicopter hovering about.

Since it is Sunday, and being the religious person I am, upon being awakened by all this noise I yelled a short but simple prayer, "JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!"

Perhaps it should be a musical! A holiday special shot in Budapest or Toronto, standing in for ? (Don't remember where the actual TRUE story took place.)
Log line: A heartwarming musical fantasy about two crazy kids who dream of putting on a last show for their Teacher who has a Life-Threatening Illness.. A dream that comes true when they meet a zany green creature who looks like Barbra Streisand.

We need musical arcs and a musical journey and musical women in jeopardy!
And buttah.

The actual true story took place right here in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Incidentally, what is the Hungarian for "kudos?"

I really like the idea of making this a musical. I can just picture me and Vespi and Kudo-head and our teacher doing a kick-line.

I just ate quite a bit of tuna pasta salad.  I would like to write a song about it.

If I wrote a song about tuna pasta salad,
Would it be a bouncy "C" or a ballad
Would it swing, would it sway
Be so light, be so gay
Like a fish Night and Day
With words like "June" and "moon"
Yes, that's a perfect tun-a
Pasta Salad Ballad.

That is quite a marvelous song.  I must go and register it for copyright right now.

I think "kudos" is weird enough to BE Hungarian.

For instance, the name Kudos Karpathy sounds right.

Well, still non-stop rain in LA.  I'm building an ark.  We watched Noel Coward's IN WHICH WE SERVE today.  And you can tell it is Noel Coward's as his name is emblazoned all over it multiple times in the credits.  It is also a wonderful film which I had never seen before.  In fact, I don't believe I ever saw Coward in his prime.  He is also wonderful.

I will certainly attend any night of Penny's upcoming show. Looking forward to it. I'm available most nights of the run including the aforementioned March 16th, so put me down for attendance.

Matt H.thank you.  The snow is lovely to look at, but not to shovel which is what is spent most of the morning doing today.  I didn’t care either of the BORUNE movies.

Ginny & Charles Pogue I am having a difficult time getting into DAUGHTER OF TIME and I’m almost half way through the book.  I’m sure it is my current state of mind and not the book.  I’m now convinced it is me… Charles, it took me a minute to figure out why you were telling me about Richard III.  I am pathetic.   ;D Charles I am interested in your theories on the subject.

BK, I have had to swear off Diet Coke.  The acid reflux just can't take it anymore.  Onto milder things like root beer.

I had to give up all carbinated drinks. :(

Scones - such a different thing in Oz and the UK. Can't imagine Jam and Cream being served on a US scone.

A devonshire tea has scones - with jam and clotted cream.

Now I want to go to a proper tea shop, have fresh tea, scones with jam and clotted cream and little sandwiches.
