I've been to a Hooter's once.  I and about 3 friends of mine had congregated back in Northern Kentucky on a Friday afternoon before our 30th High School reunion and we went to a Hooter's on the Ohio river in Newport. KY, for lunch...with views of downtown Cincinnati.  The waitresses were mostly cute college girls in tight t-shirt, who were sweet and as vaguely witty as college girls can get, and who get points for tolerating a bunch of guys in their late forties flirting with them.  It must get old for them.

The place certainly wasn't a "guy" hang-out.  There were women there and families.  The food was mostly battered and fried. And wholly forgettable.

I can't wait till next week.  I guess it's almost over. With only 6 teams left (the finale usually has 3 or 4 teams and 2 hours).  So potentially only a few more weeks!

Finale is usually 3 teams, meaning three more eliminations, and probably two more non-elimination stops, so I'd guess 6 more episodes.

I'm making chicken enchiladas and fried rice tonight. Yeah! (I've been craving this for a couple of weeks!).

Btw, my PBS station is repeating CANDIDE twice during the night (1am and 4am). So I will tape it then! Double yeah!   I really like Kristin Chenoweth.  Interesting she will be going up against herself (since she is on the West Wing too).

"Charlie Sheen, out!  Pat Swayze, in!"

*nausea increasing*

I realized... even this isn't "my generation" enough for these morons, never mind the fact that the character is thinking back to childhood.  They'll probably demand "Johnny Depp, out!  Josh Hartnett, in!" or something equally horrific.

I'm not under the weather - just had a brief headache.

Just spoke to Ray Courts - looks like I'll be doing the April memorabilia show.  Fun.

No, Ron, you are not germinating.  If you give in to germinating then you will be germinating.  Just say no.

That's a relief.  Now I can light a fire in my fireplace without fear of sprouting something or other.

And to take your advice:   NO!

Second question, to the DRs in general:
Have any of you actually been to a Hooter's restaurant?

Nope.

AMAZING RACE TALK

I should know this but I forget.  The finale is 2 hours.  So do we have 3 teams and one non-elimination during that show?  Also, how many non-eliminations are there?  I know we've had at least 3 so far.

Just an extra-long leg of the race, like the one they recently split into two episodes.

There have been two so far this year.  There used to be three per race, but last season they upped it to four.

AMAZING RACE!

I thought it was a good episode DRJENNIFER.  I think if Adam and Rebecca had failed, then J/V could have tried the Fast Forward....but they didn't want to wait around....  OR can it only be tried by the first team that attempts it?  Hmmmm....where is the rule book?

I think you're right, JRand.  If J/V had stuck around, they could probably have done it when Adam initially failed.

AMAZING RACE.

re: non-eliminations

There have been two so far this year.  There used to be three per race, but last season they upped it to four.

Are you sure there haven't been 3 so far?  We had the grandparents.  And last night.  And wasn't there another team somewhere in there?

re: DR Jrand's question about them not letting 2 teams try for the fast forward.

Well, normally it's the first team that gets it, has it (and more than one team can try).  BUt in this case they had to go underwater.  And the guy running it said that only one team could be underwater at a time.  So jonathan/victoria would have had to wait for adam/rebecca to come out of the water.  And since if they came up out of the water, they would have had the clue, there was no reason for the other team to wait.

However it would have been interesting if they had waited.  Because like DR Jed said, Adam came out of the water.  So technically jon/vic would have been able to go down.

But Rebecca already had the clue.  It would have been fun!  Plus i dislike both those teams, so i wouldn't have cared who had lost! :)

Is it just coincidence that amazon is recommending I purchase "Darby O'Gill and The Little People".?

Well, I do understand that Disney are trying to track you down for a live remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs .... and "NO" ~ they do not want you to play Snow White (or the wicked Queen)!!!!!!

Hello Dear readers all.

I have spent all morning and now nearly three hours of the afternoon with the dumbest bunch of individuals ever assembled to do a loan closing.

On my way to drop DH at the train this morning, he & I were following a van plastered with bumper stickers
with phrases such as "Stupidity should hurt" and "Stamp out Stupid People" and  "Whatever Happened to Survival of the Fittest?"

We were laughing and referring to him as "Mr. Tolerance", but right now I completely and utterly emphasize with him

And bk's little people have taken up residence in my noggin

I just paid a visit to another board to see what they were saying about A Chorus Line.  The usual - "it's not relevant to my generation, I hope they change it" by these whiny kiddies who frequent those boards.  One of them said, "I want it to be fresh and relevant to my generation."

I think generational mutilation is a good thing.  Remember that boring ole opera, what was it called?  Le Boheem or something like that, who cares.  No one wants to see a spooty opera these days.  But!  then they made RENT! so that a whole new generation (which apparently consists entirely of drug addicts and queens with AIDS) could identify with Verdi's charming story of a bank robbery.

I have a couple of Kritzerland CDs left, but am out of Benjamin Kritzer.  However, the good news is that the contents of all three CDs are now in my computer, so I can burn you a copy if that's all right.

All right?  It's fantastic!  I've been playing Kritzer Time a lot, although not nearly as much as JEEPERS CREEPERS, these days.  Because of Mr Haines' fabulous styling on "Look for a Star" I forced the 9th floor of 154 W 14th Street to hear HAINES HIS WAY twice today, and "Here You Come Again" several more times.

LOL.  I wouldn't know anything about that....stopped teaching gymnastics about 15 years ago!

I did learn one thing though, don't volunteer to spot a teenage girl doing a backflip if she is wearing a tube top!

My question for Ask BK Day:

Dear BK,
With all your talent in the recording studio and the modern technology available today, would you be able to make Ashlee Simpson sound good?
