Ahhhhh...snarkiness, thy name is Ron Pulliam. ;)  And pity the poor soul who doesn't get any over a 4 day period.....

Snarkiness, that is!  (It's a horrible thing to have to anticipate DT TCB's comments before he's even read the post....)

With all the stretching you're doing here, you ought to be ready for a serious workout!

:D

I think TCB will be more taken with your "size" comment than anything I might have uttered today!

("Uttered", get it!  Snark!  Snark!)

I am just back from lunch, as it so happens.  I have managed to "catch up", both my inbox AND here at the forum.

I had grilled snapper, herbed rice and steamed veggies.

It was truly scrumptious.

Rah-Rah-Rass, Kick 'em in the other Knee!

There goes Ron, interrupting my work day with his choreography

DR Stuart, thank you SO much for remembering me to John Bolton. It's been over a month, and I still remember his performance with great pleasure.

Didn't I read somewhere that he's due to star in a show of his own soon?

TCB and I are both in rehearsals for Charley's Aunt, opening this Friday.

Thanks for reminding me. My old man's brain just ain't what it used to be. I've noted the date in my day planner.

So very sad to read about Bob Denver. I found him simply hilarious as Maynard G, Krebbs in THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS.

Spent this afternoon watching ON THE AVENUE which I DVRed off the Fox Movie Channel this morning. Hadn't seen the whole movie in many years. I still find the Ritz Brothers resistible, but ALice Faye steals the movie with her vocals. And it's the best Dick Powell ever sounded in a musical, too.

We should all be so blessed to be remembered as fondly as Mr. Denver. I have no clew what his personal life was like, but what a blessing for a performer to have created two beloved, iconic television characters.

According to one article I read (it might be the same everywhere):

"Denver's wife, Dreama, and his children Patrick, Megan, Emily and Colin were with him when he died."

"He was my everything and I will love him forever," Dreama Denver said in a statement.

Sounds like a good family life. :)

In a post a couple of days ago, DR JoseSPiano wrote, about "Lestat":

"The show better do well in San Francisco!!!
*DRs Ron Pulliam and Matthew - Do either of you know any of the reviewer's for the newspapers out there?"

I don't know any of them personally, but I have communicated with a number of them over the years via e-mail (i.e., good call, what the hell were you thinking...that sort of thing).

San Francisco is a "dream city" for new shows.  Audiences are extremely appreciative.  "Wicked" was a MAJOR hit...SRO all through it's premiere showings here.

I'm certain "Lestat" will be given every chance.  There is no greater fan of the "Lestat" stories than I.  And I'm also jazzed about the John/Taupin collaboration.

For your sake, Jose, I hope I like it.

I was curious which one of the wonderful Irving Berlin tunes from the film got the nomination for Best Song in 1937. The answer? NONE!!!

Was "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" not an original song in this film? How could it have been passed over? Or "This Year's Kisses." Simply amazing.

But the article also said, "Denver had also undergone quadruple heart bypass surgery earlier this year."  So it wasn't all easy going. :-\

Rather than fire up the DVD player, I shut off everything atfer I finished watching ON THE AVENUE to enjoy a 45 minute nap. I don't often take naps, but I guess I needed one today since last night's sleep wasn't particularly restful.

George, your extremely thoughtful gift arrived today.  Thank you for your kindness and your exceptional packaging job.  ;)

Suffice it to say, for those who are wondering, that my celebrated co-starring appearance with Jessica Lange has been digitally transferred to semi-permanent disk status.  ;)  I must hie myself off to find a place for it in the "archive" (inside joke for those who have seen the A&E Biography).

You're more than welcome!  I just had to get it and since my sister's boyfriend can make DVDs from VHS tapes, I asked and he said yes...so thank him, too. ;D I made the cover, though, from a screen shot and a couple of scans from the otherwise generic A&E box.

Thank you!  With the hioliday yesterday Iwas bound to forget.  Last night I stumbled onto a "Reno 911 Rewind" on Comdedy Central.  they were showing all this season's shows withthe exceptiopn of the finale from  8 PM until 12:30 AM.  Unfortunately I didn't notice this until 8:30 and I went to be at 10:30, or I could have taped all the shows I missed .

And on a lighter note, it's been announced who will receive the Kennedy Center Honors:  Robert Redford, singers Tony Bennett and Tina Turner, actress Julie Harris and ballerina-teacher Suzanne Farrell.  Sounds like a good bunch.  My dad LOVES Tony Bennett.  He even performed here in Olympia a couple of years ago.  My sister and I got tickets for our parents and my dad was in heaven!

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from Richmond... still.

I think I'm going to stay here one more night, then head back up to DC in the morning.  Then back up to NYC tomorrow afternon/evening.

At least that's the plan for now.

Otherwise, it's been a gorgeous day weather-wise here in Richmond, and I was also able to get a lot of stuff done - mail, banking, storage unit, DMV, etc.  I even went ahead and practiced for a bit since I have a grand piano at my disposal here at Joel and John's.  I just needed to look at some of those Jason Robert Brown songs again before this weekend; needed to find my groove again, as it were, since I'm sure a couple of them will make their way onto the music stand of the piano during the course of auditions.
